SESSION 3: THE PILLARS OF HUMAN PERFORMANCE Completing this session will allow you to deconstruct the components that create a motivational intelligence growth mindset. The discussion focuses on the two most common management mistakes and how they undermine team culture and individual performance. The final debate focuses on the five critical best practices of excellent management, including clearly defining and communicating goals, creating alignment and buy-in, setting proper expectations, monitoring performance, and recognizing and rewarding performance. Our final portion will work to define what management is. Session 5: Exploring and Defining Leadership: Dispelling the Myths that Surround It Session 5 strives to define leadership. Building on this definition is a follow-up discussion regarding how people develop their leadership abilities. We’ll explore the underpinnings of what creates a successful leader. It also includes the importance of asking questions and active listening. We’ll review the five behavioral characteristics associated with motivational intelligence and how leaders can assess the relative strengths or weaknesses of the characteristics within their team. Lastly, we’ll explore great leaders’ five critical best practices, including communicating a compelling vision, modeling the correct behaviors, establishing a team culture anchored in responsibility, consistently building team confidence and self-esteem, and proactively coaching and mentoring. SESSION 6: BUILDING A LEADERSHIP TOOLBOX FOSTERING ADAPTABILITY, RESILIENCE, AND COURAGE We’ll provide information regarding tools and techniques that leaders can utilize to foster greater accountability and ownership win their teams. SOME PERFORMANCES EVEN BECOME ICONIC.  Here at the Studio, we’ve brought knowledge gained across producing, writing, directing and coaching to bear on the question of how to do great, memorable screen acting performances. We’ve discovered that it comes down to the actor’s ownership of the character. Indeed, when we think of memorable or iconic screen performances we find it difficult to separate the actor from the character. There is a sense in which the character becomes the character. Or another way of thinking about it, the actor owns the character. The skill of becoming or owning the character is even harder on screen than it is on stage. On stage, performances rely heavily on the actor’s skill in voice and movement – as well of course their ability to use emotions the way they are supposed to. Mastery over physicality, voice and emotion is often what makes the stage actor memorable in a role. But if the stage actor relies on voice and movement primarily, what does the screen actor need to hold onto to elevate their on screen characters? How does ‘becoming the character’ look like for the actor working on screen? This course is a first step into helping you create memorable characters on screen – character performances you own. Over the course of the 5 weeks, the Online Screen Acting Course will deliver key insights into how to do screen acting the most powerful but also, most efficient way. Key to our practice will be teaching you how to read scripts deeply and helping you see how you can search the text for clues into characterisation that may lie under the surface. In the final weeks of the course, students will learn how to make confident choices, take the risk of committing to some choices while at the same time remaining flexible enough to change, adapt and adjust their performances in line with the casting director notes or the director’s requirements. The programme is particularly suited to parents and caregivers of autistic children and young people as we can explore key concerns, adapt resources to different needs and work as a group on maximising strengths and problem solving.  Eligibility: Are you a parent or other caregiver of an autistic child/children? Working with young volunteers    Tuesday 18 June, 10am-12.30pm   Would you like to work with young volunteers in your organisation?   About this event   During this training session, we will be exploring all aspects of how to work with young volunteers, from recruitment and logistics to safeguarding.   This webinar will be led by Eleanor Moore the Sustainable Volunteering Officer with the Museum Development South West Programme. Her background is in social and community history curatorship and advisory work within the museums sector, with experience of managing volunteer teams.   She will be joined by Sebastian Amos, Chair of Trustees and Adam Marsden, Young Volunteer at Transport Museum Wythall and Rania Nur, former Young Volunteer, now Trustee at the Museum of the Home. They will be sharing case studies about the young volunteer programmes in their organisations.    The session will help delegates to: * understand the importance of this work * think about how to develop young volunteer roles * gain inspiration from case studies to take your own work forward * understand good practice around safeguarding and young volunteers.   Take a look at the full schedule.
