This has been our story for more than a century, and the challenge remains
great. More than 14,000 people are killed in accidents across the UK each year
with thousands more suffering injuries, many of which are life-changing. Yet,

working to stop the needless loss and devastation that accidents cause to
individuals, families, communities, businesses and society as a whole. The only
UK charity to work across occupational health and safety, and road, home,
leisure and education safety, we promote the exchange of life-enhancing skills
and knowledge by: Researching the evidence base for accident prevention,
campaigning on the big issues and sharing advice and information Providing
training, consultancy, qualifications, events and products for businesses and
professionals to help them manage risks to their workers and others Welcoming
organisations into our membership and awards communities where they can learn
from best practice and celebrate their achievements. The significant reductions
in death and injury on the roads and in workplaces across the UK have
demonstrated that a systematic approach to accident prevention works, and we are
proud to have played our part. We are committed to continuing this legacy, and
