I had a wonderful introductory session to pottery making, hosted by the exceptionally talented Liz. It’s not as easy as the professionals make it look, but isn’t that always the case… it takes a lot of practice to be perfect!! However, I had the most enjoyable two and a half hours as a novice potter, and I can’t wait to see my little olive bowl, once it’s been fired and glazed. Thank you Liz. With COVID forcing me to abandon my previous pottery sessions, in January I was lucky enough to be offered a place in the Tuesday morning workshop at CCS and just love every minute I spend with the lovely ladies in the group - all expertly guided by Christine who is so easy and fun. Wish I could spend more time in the fab studio which is so well stocked with everything we need to get creative. Nothing quite beats "playing" with clay for relaxing - it's a workout for the soul! What a great experience I have had getting back to doing a little bit of pottery after an intro to it back at university 35years ago!! The teachers are all fab, friendly and helpful as I dabble with my techniques and try to improve my skills and knowledge… still a long way to go but loving the journey. I signed up to 6 week clay course, with no previous experience. Over the evenings I was shown lots of different techniques, and given the freedom to make whatever I wanted. The courses aren't too busy, meaning you get a lot of help and advice, and equipment is always available to use. Everyone is really friendly and encouraging, with different levels of experience. I highly recommend coming here, I will be booking to return soon!
