Lovely well run fishery and well stocked. Easy to bank fish every area because of no obstacles behind you, so ideal for beginners. Surprisingly the north arm of the res is not fished much and I know many of the bigger over-wintered fish are there.

First time fly fishing, met lots of lovely people only to willing to help with advice for a novice. Now hooked, pardon the pun, booked second visit. Great value fishing in a beautiful setting.

Even though covid19 has made life a little difficult at times, I found booking and arriving at Blithfield very easy, the fishing permits and boats were all ready when we arrived, the staff were helpful and friendly when needed but kept their distance well. The lake had recently been stocked so 7 anglers in my group managed 115 fish!!! My only complaint was the trout were only 1.5 to 2lb and didn't always fight very hard .
