Blackwater Sailing Club

I don't use the sailing club but it's very popular and it's part of the sea wall walk

Joined last year, kids having a great time. Racing is tricky because of the number of marks and courses but at least it should not get boring!

Great and friendly club with both a river and a lake (for children and beginners). Many classes are well supported and there is a full program of training for children, as well as racing almost every weekend in the main sailing season. Only major downside is a lack of proper bar serving food.

Grew up through the cadet section and have raced here regularly. Some fantastic facilities on hand with tractors and club steward to help with the larger boats. Great safety boat fleet to look after the sailors. Great for learning to sail on the lake and if you like handicap racing round the cans on the river. Lovely stretch of water to sail on, when the tides up you have 3/4 hours of expansive water to explore. Changing facilities could be better and no catered food service let it down a bit.
