I am proud to be Headmaster of Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School. Our objective is that children and young people educated here develop into well-rounded individuals eager and able to become future leaders. Although we are a selective school, our students come from a wide range of backgrounds and are full of ambition. We want to create an environment where we match their aspirations and where they can flourish and excel. We can trace our history back to Newchurch Grammar School founded in 1703. The core of their staff formed BRGS on our current site in 1913. With 100 years of serving families in Rossendale and beyond, we are proud of our heritage and celebrate our school traditions, but alongside this, we seek to embrace positive change and innovation.
