Description

Our Business Essentials Package includes five popular courses to cover key workplace legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Equality Act 2010, Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK GDPR.  The package of courses is ideal to provide employees a general understanding of responsibilities under these laws and how to remain compliant at work. Each course takes approximately 45-60mins to complete.

By the end of the Health and Safety at Work course, learners will be able to:

• Identify ways to help prevent accidents and injuries at work.
• Identify common types of PPE available and the requirement to use them in the workplace.
• Avoid potentially hazardous substances by identifying product labels.
• Recognise common safety signs and know where to seek further training and information.

By the end of the Fire Safety Awareness course, learners will be able to:

• Describe the basic principles of fire safety and the various classifications of fire.
• Identify ways to reduce the risk of fire in the workplace.
• Raise the alarm quickly and react to fire appropriately.
• Recognise different types of firefighting equipment and extinguish methods.

By the end of the Manual Handling Awareness course, learners will be able to:

• Define the term ‘Manual Handling’ and identify related legislation.
• Recognise key employer and employee responsibilities.
• Identify the benefits of controlling manual handling risk and the LITE assessment method.
• Follow the general safe lifting guidelines for everyday items as recommended by the UK’s HSE.

Content within these courses provides a solution that is suitable for a wide range of sectors including retail and commerce, hospitality, education, finance and professional services, hotels and tourism, manufacturing and more. Anyone working in higher-risk roles or industries may require supplementary additional role specific training.

This course contains a multiple choice quiz which is completed online and graded immediately with a passing score of 75%. 

The quiz can be re-attempted in the event of a failure and tutor support can be provided upon request. 

The certificate does not state an expiry date, although it is recommended that refresher training is completed every 3 years.

Some employers may require annual refresher training or other periods as determined by risk assessment.
