Alma Artspace

The word ALMA has several meanings in different languages including : nourishing, kind, feed one’s soul and lifts the spirit. Some sources even suggest it has roots in the Greek symbol for the sea or Arabic for the water (appropriate given our close proximity to the sea here in Newquay). ALMA exists to promote quality contemporary art in all it’s forms. We believe that art is for everyone, and we want to share the things we are inspired by with our community, whilst encouring people to join in, learn new things, ask questions and make new creative connections. ALMA is a CIC which means that all our activities directly feed back into our programme of events, exhibitions, workshops and community projects.
