Who is this course for?

This course is aimed at those who would like to teach in the further education sector in a college or private training provider. It provides you with knowledge and understanding of the role of a teacher and how to meet individual learner needs.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal qualifications required to undertake this course. Although, we would recommend that you have completed a Level 2 course before starting a Level 3. To secure your place please return the completed registration form available by contacting us. After this, we will arrange an initial advice and guidance session before completing an initial assessment. You do not need to be teaching to take this qualification.

Why should I do this qualification?

If you want to work with adults and young people, most awarding organisations require you to hold or be working towards a L3 teaching qualification. This qualification is for anyone wanting to teach adults and young people in a further education setting. It will provide you with the skills and knowledge to be able teach vocational qualifications.

What will I learn?

You will gain the knowledge and understanding of the roles and responsibilities of teachers or trainers related to equality and diversity, legislation and meeting the needs of learners. The course covers the planning and delivery of sessions, motivating learners within a learning environment, assessment methods and record-keeping.

How will I be assessed?

This is an internally assessed qualification and you will be required to carry out presentations, write essays, plan and deliver a microteach session.
