Normal sports clothing. Make sure your top isn't too loose

How much does it cost?
The Learn to Row package is £40.

We ask that you bring the full £40 (cash or cheque) to your first session.

What happens during the first session?
At your first session we'll ask you to fill in a membership form so that we have all of your details, familiarise you with the club and cover how to get boats on and off the lake.

The basic techniques of rowing will be covered.

What will I have covered by the end of the course?

  • Carrying and storing boats

  • Launching and landing boats

  • Correct manoeuvring whilst on the water

  • Safety instruction: Circulation pattern, capsize and recovery on the Lake

  • Learn to scull in a variety of boats

  • Proper technique on an indoor rowing machine

Is rowing safe?
Yes, very! You must be able to swim in light clothing.

What happens at the end of the course?
You're invited to join our regular sessions which are on a Wednesday evening at 7pm and Sunday morning at 8am.

We have a selection of sizes of boat and we ensure that everyone gets out each session. We will continue to assist training you during these sessions until you are fully competent on a wide range of boats.

If you wish to carry on rowing, we ask you to set up a standing order to be set up on the date of the first post-Learn to Row session.
