Assessment

The delivering Centre will internally assess all units. All of the units are assessed by coursework and this may include the production of portfolios, presentations, practical projects, and staff observations. None of the units requires you to sit a formal examination.

Students will need to show that they meet each of the assessment criteria detailed within each unit, to the required standard for the level of the unit.

Diploma Certificates will be awarded following assessment of the candidate's course works. A qualified tutor will examine the evidence and make a decision, which is verified by the external verifier and passed for certification. To be awarded the certificates, candidates must pass all the six units. Candidates need to achieve 40% mark in order to pass each unit. The achievement (pass) rates for this qualification are outstanding.

Entry Requirements

For entry onto the OTHM Level 4 Diploma in Business Management qualification, learners must possess:

  • Relevant NQF/QCF/RQF Level 3 Award/Diploma, GCE/GCSE, or equivalent qualification.

  • Mature learners (over 21) with management experience (learners must check with the delivery centre regarding this experience before registering for the programme).

  • Learner must be 18 years or older at the beginning of the course.

Progression

Successful completion of Level 4 Diploma in Business Management enables the learners to pursue progressions including OTHM Level 5 Diploma in Business Management.
As this qualification is approved and regulated by Ofqual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulation), learners are eligible for direct entry into Year 2 of a three-year UK Bachelor's degree programme.

combined total of 120 credits, 1200 hours Total Qualification Time (TQT) and 480 Guided
Learning Hours (GLH) for the completed qualification.
