The session includes a worksheet and PowerPoint presentation, plus samples and demonstrations to inspire further ideas for after the session.

 

Aimed at anyone with an interest in textiles and soft sculpture, the workshop examines the artistic potential of knitting. The emphasis is on creating a small experimental piece (which can be completed after class) – however many of the techniques could be adapted to create a garment, accessory or household object.

 

What attendees will need: -

  • Knitting needles, double pointed knitting needles and conventional knitting needles or crochet hooks.
  • Yarns, any will do, but bright and neon colours if you have them, plus any with interesting textures.
  • Stuffing, conventional polyester cushion stuffing, woollen fleece or shredded paper.
  • Haberdasheries, including ribbon, sequins, beads, buttons, felt, etc to decorate your piece.
  • Basic sewing kit, scissors, large eyed needles and embroidery threads.
  • Internet access, with a microphone and webcam. Please only book is you are able to attend in real time.
