Description

I'm really excited to be running a series of workshops next year, which I've named 'Saturday Sings'.
For each workshop, I've invited a fantastic guest choir composer, and we will take it in turns to teach our own original SATB harmony songs. Who knows, you could be the first group of singers to ever sing this material!

👉 WHERE? Faithspace, Prewett St, Redcliffe, Bristol BS1 6PB*
👉 WHAT TIME? 10-4pm (pls note earlier time than rest of Saturday Sings workshops)
👉 PRICE? £45 standard rate (plus booking fee), inc lunch, teas, coffees and cakes. (Low Income/Higher Earner options).

All are welcome! We are Natural Voice Network leaders and all songs will taught by ear so there is no need to read music.

* Drivers - Faithspace is in the Bristol Clean Air Zone, so you may be charged, depending on your car - check here. There is free parking at the venue (there is one car park on either side of the building and you're welcome to use either).

15th June 2024 - Anna Tabbush & Rosie Sleightholme
For the third of our Saturday Sings workshops, I have the wonderful Anna Tabbush as guest leader.

About Anna:

Anna Tabbush is a choir director, songwriter and singer based in West Sussex. Her songs are popular with choirs across Britain and around the world including “Harbour”; a song she wrote in 2020 in support of refugees fleeing the war in Syria which has had over 20,000 downloads of the score and was recently featured on BBC comedy drama Juice.

She currently sings with vocal quartet Oaken and travels around the country running singing workshops and performing as a singer-songwriter. When she’s not on the road or writing and arranging songs (many of which are published on choircommunity.net) or organising singing events (including a festival called SingFest) Anna can be found frolicking in the forest with her daughter and dog.

Payment options:
  • I want Saturday Sings to be accessible whilst also paying myself, my composer guest and my caterer a fair wage. For this reason I've offered 3 payment options (just as I do for my choirs) - General (£45), Low Income (£40) and Higher Earner (£50). If you can afford to pay a bit more, your extra payment is much appreciated and helps to offset Low Income payments.
  • Please have a read of the Fees table on my People of Note website to decide which of the 3 categories you best fit, and you can decide which rate to pay, no questions asked.
  • If you will still struggle to pay the low income options, please contact me directly as there may be some lower rate volunteer tickets I can offer in exchange for help with certain tasks on the day (this may not be an option depending on how close to the event it is).
  • Please see the event FAQs for what else your fee includes.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the venue accessible?

The main space is accessible via a separate entrance at the back of Faithspace, next to the carpark. There are accessible toilets, but these need to be accessed by going outside around the building to another side entrance (so it's doable but does involve going outside to get inside again, sorry - the venue is working on sorting this out).

  • Is there parking?

Yes, there is plenty of parking at Faithspace (very rare for a central Bristol venue!)

  • Refund Policy

If you find you can't attend you have several options:

    • If more than 1 month before the workshop:
      • I can give you a full refund, minus any admin or processing fees.
      • You can transfer to another Saturday Sings workshop.
    • If less than 1 month before the workshop:
      • At my discretion, depending on whether I can easily fill your space, you may be able to transfer to another Saturday Sings workshop.
      • If you don't want to transfer to any future workshops, and the workshop has a waiting list and I can easily fill your space I may be able to refund you at my discretion, minus any admin or processing fees. If I can't easily fill your space I reserve the right to retain the full workshop amount with no refund.
      • You can transfer your ticket to a friend.
    • If I need to cancel the event for any reason:
      • I will give you as much notice as possible and you can either transfer to another Saturday Sings workshop (or the same workshop if reorganised for another date), or you can receive a full refund.
  • What does my payment cover?

    Your £45 payment covers:

    • Teaching time on the day for x2 teachers
    • Composing and prep time for x2 teachers
    • Venue hire for a day
    • Catering fees (lunch, cakes, teas, coffees)
