Knowledge of Kubernetes is essential for any DevOps professional, and this course covers everything you need to get up and running with Kubernetes. The most important part of the course is the series of hands-on coding exercises that accompany each major concept, designed to help you deploy your own applications to a Kubernetes platform confidently. The course starts with an introduction to Kubernetes, enabling you to learn about Docker and containers. Next, you'll set up a lab using VirtualBox and work with Minikube to create a Kubernetes cluster. As you advance, you'll use YAML files to create and deploy Pods and understand how containers/Pods communicate with one another in Kubernetes. You'll also study Kubernetes services and the architecture of Kubernetes microservices. Toward the end, you'll deploy microservices applications to a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Kubernetes cluster and set up a multi-node Kubernetes cluster using kubeadm.
