Description

Supporting low-income families to engage with museums: Afternoon Cuppa Session (Wales)

Monday 18 November, 2.30-3.30pm

Do you want to gain a better understanding of family audiences that are experiencing poverty?

About this training

This session will explore the barriers faced by families experiencing poverty and help attendees to think about how to support this group in their venues.

We will hear from Simon Page, Education Project Manager (Wales) at Child Poverty Action Group about the impact of poverty for families in Wales. Simon will be joined by Sara Fortune, Museum Manager at Preston Park Museum and Grounds, who will share some of their learning from the Poverty Proofing© process at Tees Valley Museums.

The session will help delegates to:

  • deepen your understanding of poverty in Wales,

  • gain insight into how poverty can impact a family’s chances of engaging with cultural venues,

  • think about how considerations around poverty can impact on the experiences you provide for families in your museum.

Take a look at the full schedule.

This training will be delivered virtually on Zoom over one hour.

The session will be delivered in English with bilingual slides, with an option to provide a Welsh language interpreter.

Run in partnership with the Welsh Museums Federation and generously supported by the Welsh Government

Who should attend?

This training is aimed at staff and volunteers who work in museums, galleries and heritage sites who are interested in developing and enriching their current offer with a better understanding of audiences experiencing poverty. This webinar is for staff and volunteers from Welsh museums only

Cefnogi teuluoedd incwm isel i ymgysylltu ag amgueddfeydd: Sesiwn Paned Prynhawn (Cymru)

Dydd Llun 18 Tachwedd, 2.30-3.30pm

Ydych chi eisiau cael gwell dealltwriaeth o deuluoedd mewn tlodi sy’n ymweld?

Gair am yr hyfforddiant hwn

Bydd y sesiwn hon yn archwilio’r rhwystrau a wynebir gan bobl sy’n dioddef tlodi ac yn helpu’r rhai sy’n mynychu i ystyried sut i gefnogi’r grŵp hwn ar eu safleoedd.

Byddwn yn clywed gan Simon Page, Rheolwr Prosiect Addysg (Cymru) yn y Grŵp Gweithredu ar Dlodi Plant am effaith tlodi ar deuluoedd yng Nghymru. Yn ymuno â Simon bydd Sara Fortune, Rheolwr yr Amgueddfa yn Preston Park Museum and Grounds, a fydd yn rhannu rhai o’r pethau y maent wedi eu dysgu o’r broses Poverty Proofing© yn Amgueddfa Tees Valley.

Bydd y sesiwn yn helpu cynrychiolwyr i:

  • ddyfnhau eich dealltwriaeth o dlodi yng Nghymru,

  • gael cipolwg ar y ffordd y gall tlodi effeithio ar gyfleoedd teuluoedd i gymryd rhan mewn safleoedd diwylliannol

  • meddwl sut mae ystyriaethau ynghylch tlodi yn gallu effeithio ar y profiadau a ddarparwch i deuluoedd yn eich amgueddfa.

Gwelwch yr amserlen lawn.

Bydd yr hyfforddiant hwn wedi ei ddarparu’n rhithwir ar Zoom dros gyfnod o awr.

Bydd y sesiwn wedi ei darparu yn Saesneg gyda sleidiau dwyieithog ac opsiwn i ddarparu cyfieithydd Cymraeg.

Rhedir hwn mewn partneriaeth â Ffederasiwn Amgueddfeydd Cymru gyda chefnogaeth hael gan Lywodraeth Cymru

Pwy ddylai fynd?

Mae’r hyfforddiant hwn wedi ei anelu at staff a gwirfoddolwyr sy’n gweithio mewn amgueddfeydd, orielau a safleoedd treftadaeth sydd â diddordeb mewn datblygu a chyfoethogi eu cynnig presennol gyda gwell dealltwriaeth o gynulleidfaoedd sy’n dioddef tlodi. Mae’r gweminar hwn i staff a gwirfoddolwyr o amgueddfeydd yng Nghymru yn unig.
