Do you want to be more visible to teachers?
Do you want to know what to post and when?
Are you wondering what you should be doing differently?
And the big one: do you even need a blog?
Hi! I’m Isobel. I’m an editor and proofreader of inclusive books for children, and I help children’s authors market their books to UK schools so that they can impact the lives of more children.
When I was a school librarian, I searched online for all kinds of things, but there was always a problem that I needed to solve. I read blogs from literacy organisations, children’s authors and the press – in fact, I read anything that could help me in my quest for information.
So why blogs? What not podcasts or video or social media?
Because blogs were the easiest media to read online during the school day. No sound, no video and no danger of getting caught in the spam filter or falling foul of social-media restrictions.
In this week-long mini course, I show you what teachers want and need, how to increase your visibility and plan the next three months of blog content – all before the end of term, so that you can take action and let your blogs do the work while you get on with important things like resting, spending time with friends or family or even writing!
‘Isobel shares so much information and provides a great insight into what teachers/schools are looking for and where they put their focus, which means I can work towards appealing to their needs.’
Josie Dom on Planning Your Blogs to Reach Teachers
This is for you if you:
‘Isobel was professional, and very generous with her time and energy. She ensured that everyone on the course was able to make the most of it, no matter how far along they were on their “author journey”.’
Matthew Wainwright, on Taking Your Book To School®
You get:
‘Isobel goes above and beyond in helping you get ready to take your book to school. She is so professional and knowledgeable and puts on the best sessions.’
Polly Owen on Taking Your Book To School®
At the end of the course you should:
And the investment? That’s £197 for six sessions – less than your fee for a half-day school visit.
Create blogs that will resonate with teachers so that they are excited and eager to learn more about you, your books and your school visits.
Are you ready to reach more teachers with your blogs? Come and join us!
We start on Monday 10th July. I can’t wait to get started!
‘A massively unexpected benefit is the kick start it gives in confidence to feel that I can do this.’
Natalia Maddison on Taking Your Book To School®
Please note that purchasing this course means that you have read and agree to the terms and conditions as laid out in the Group Programme Agreement.
All sessions are recorded so that you can watch in your own time. If you want to attend live, you will need to set aside around 30–40 minutes per day to attend the session and around 20 minutes for the self-guided task. Some tasks may take longer, depending on your experience.
You are welcome to email short questions to me after the course or book a follow-up session at my usual rate. Proofreading is available at a 10% discount.
They commence on Monday 10th July and are every day at 10:00 a.m. All sessions are recorded so that you can watch or catch up in whichever way suits you.
I usually run this in July. If you’re interested in school visits generally, I run Taking Your Book To School every autumn, and you can jump on the waiting list here.
