Supporting hoarding disorder through the term of the relationship using positive engagement techniques

Outcomes are policy and practice tools, as well as an action plan.

Julie has worked directly with people with hoarding behaviour, providing practical help and support in a person-centered first-ever way.

Julie is passionate about raising awareness of Hoarding and the challenges it brings. After the success of the first ever Hoarding Awareness Week started by the Chief Fire Officer’s Association (CFOA) in 2014, Julie decided to start this initiative again. Julie led on behalf of the Pan London Hoarding Taskforce (PLHT) and began spreading the word around the country. The week grew in 2017 and is now planned as an annual event for 3rd week in May every year.

Julie provided Hoarding training for internal Optivo Housing staff, and toolbox talks to contractors for several years. She worked with Optivo's policy team to create their hoarding procedure.
