Guildford Rock School

Guildford Rock School are fantastic - excellent tutors covering drums, guitar and keyboard, they know how to get the best out of their students and how to make it fun in the process! Just been to their summer concert which showed what a high level of teaching they provide; all the kids did brilliantly. Superb!

Sam Hopper has been teaching our 12 year old son drums for several years now, from beginner level up to grade 5, and onwards! Sam is an excellent musician and teacher, and has a gift in motivating and teaching music. Our 9-year old twins are now learning guitar and keyboards with Sam as well, so now we’re seeing all our kids enthused and excited to learn musical instruments. We can highly recommend Sam Hopper and the Guildford Rock School.

My son has been having drum lessons with Sam for the last four years. As he is a bit shy it was difficult to get him to stick to anything, however it says a lot for Sam that he is very happy to have his weekly lesson and also to practice in between. Sam is an extremely patient teacher and always makes the lessons fun and has got my son to a very good stage (I think) in quite a short time. I would highly recommend Sam to anyone looking for a music teacher for their child!

My son has been having guitar lesson for few years now, he started with another music school but he didn’t like it, he wasn’t keen on learning and he even wanted to quit; thankfully somebody recommended Sam to us and since then, my son fully engaged with the lesson and always looking forward to it. Sam’s relaxed, friendly and chilled methodology coupled with his technical and professional knowledge of music has made my son a very good guitar player clearly improving term after term.

Sam is a great teacher - he has taught my children music for several years. He is professional, punctual and patient. His lessons are creative and varied: they have learned everything from grade pieces to popular songs to play together as a band.
