This course is aimed at candidates that require the knowledge and practical skills to operate dozers safely and efficiently.
Course Content
Candidates will be able to:
- Understand the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as an operator
- Understand the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used
- Locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions
- Locate and identify key controls and explain their functions
- Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements
- Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for dozer use
- Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area
- Prepare the dozer for use, operate machinery safely and efficiently
- Attach and set trailed, mounted attachments ready for work
- Understand environmental considerations
- Storage and transport of implements and attachments
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of loading and unloading procedures for machine transportation
- Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures
Entry Requirements
NPORS CSCS – Candidates must have achieved the relevant CITB Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) touch-screen-test within 2 years.
Good understanding of spoken and written English.

Novice course – 10 Days depending upon experience
Experienced worker tests – 1 day theory and practical assessment
Location
Customer Site (Training & Testing) – Site must adhere to NPORS specifications
