We are a group of teachers, musicians and technologists who specialise in composition, improvisation and performance using iPads. Ben Sellers and Travis Snyder began running music workshops with iPads in a Hackney community centre in 2011, developing an approach that combined outstanding musical outcomes with implicit development of musicianship and theory. They transferred this approach to both formal mainstream and SEND/ALN contexts, codifying their methods into what became the 2014 textbook ‘Teaching Music with Garageband for iPad’, and a popular teacher training scheme. In 2016, Travis returned to California to become the head of Assistive Technology for the San Francisco District School Board. 2017 saw the publication of several new resources, including a second edition of the Garageband textbook and an increased focus on training partnerships with Music Education Hubs. Since 2018 we have gained an increasingly strong reputation as SEND/ALN specialists, working with MEHs up and down the country to improve provision through co-delivery and bespoke training and resources, including a complete ‘SEN/D Curriculum’ with Leicester-Shire Music Service, and a set of projects for the Charanga education platform. We were nominated twice in the 2019 ‘Music Teacher Awards for Excellence’. Though our reputation has grown, we remain a small and focussed team, working hard to develop in young people the skill, desire and drive to use music to enhance their lives.

Sporting Influence was founded in 2012 with two key aims: To improve the standard of teaching and opportunities in Primary School Sport. To improve key Social Skills through Sport. At Sporting Influence, we firmly believe that teaching sport correctly gives children the best chance in school to develop a positive attitude towards a healthy lifestyle and the potential to move into secondary school with those important social skills. Our drive to develop well rounded and healthy children is at the core of everything that we do, in every lesson, after-school club, competition or day at our holiday camps. Since the business started we have recruited and invested in our team of teachers and I can confidently say that we have one of the strongest most dedicated teams of experienced professionals across Yorkshire. We are excited to launch our Sporting Influence CIC Foundation fully in 2022 and look forward to making a big difference in the community to children and families in need of extra support. We are proud to say that we now work with: Over 35 schools every week, predominantly working alongside the school’s teaching team to improve their skill set and confidence. We work directly with over 2000 children every week. Our holiday activity Camps continue to grow with over 3,500 children attending over the course of last year.

Pocklington School was founded in 1514 by lawyer and clergyman John Dolman, a visionary who understood the transformative value of education. He established a guild in the local parish that gave support to the poor and also provided a school to educate and help local children forge a better life for themselves. Steeped in the values of courage, truth and trust, our school has continued those philanthropic aims and inspired lives for over 500 years. Pocklington School has remained on its West Green site since its foundation. Pocklington Prep School was previously known as Lyndhurst School, the name of a large house on the Bridlington Road bought by Pocklington School in 1947 as a junior boarding house. By 1950 it had evolved into a junior school in its own right, with its own staff and three classrooms. Over time further changes were made: day pupils joined the boarders, girls were admitted for the first time in 1988, and in 1992 Lyndhurst School moved to its present site on the Pocklington School campus. It was re-named Pocklington Prep School in September 2014 and its Pre-Prep section now welcomes children from the age of 3. Boarding is still central to the life of the community, where we have boarders from 9 years old through to 18.

Who We Are & Where We Are High Peak School is part of the Kedleston Group and opened in 2014.Our specialist multi-disciplinary team of leaders, carers, therapists and educationalists work seamlessly together. They teach and proactively support pupils who have been subjected to adverse childhood experiences, including trauma, toxic stress and associated mental wellbeing difficulties, aiming to break the cycle of adversity. Children and young people may also come to us because they are challenged by attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, dyslexia, and dyspraxia or moderate and specific learning difficulties. We have a specific provision within the school called the Quiet Learning Zone where we support children and young people who have an autistic spectrum condition including Asperger’s syndrome and those who have communication and sensory difficulties. The environment and teaching approaches are bespoke and tailored to ensure our children and young people thrive and can develop their self-esteem. We have extensive experience of supporting those with attachment disorders or those who have been victims of abuse and neglect. We actively encourage the development of life skills such as staying safe, acting responsibly and being respectful whether that be at school, at home or in the local community. From our beautiful rural location in Cheshire, we offer a unique setting having been converted from a hotel to create innovative and inspiring learning, social, recreational and living spaces.

Soccer Chance Academy (SCA) uses the power of soccer to inspire young people, through their development both on and off the field. In 2008 Jo met and took refuge with Dharma King Dechan Jeuren – MahaVairocana Buddha, lineage bearer of the Esoteric and LinJi Chan schools in China. She received her Dharma name – Zhi Ling. In April 2015, the MahaAmita Temple was opened by the Mayor of Southend-on-Sea. The only Buddhist Temple in the Borough, Jo was then invited by the Mayor to present the Buddhist flags to him at the Southend Borough Annual General Meeting, which he accepted on behalf of the Borough. In 2016 she was invited to become the Buddhist representative for SACRE (Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education) for the Southend Borough and currently sits on the panel. The Founding Director of the Centre, Jo is an ordained Buddhist teacher and runs meditation and healing sessions weekly and Mindfulness courses monthly. She is a huge advocate of teaching and promoting the benefits of meditation and visits schools, groups and organisations within the local community giving talks and workshops. Her personal philosophy is to be as honest and truthful as possible and specialises in teaching how to open up the heart centre. Thomas Mills High School

Thomas Mills, a wealthy businessman and a prominent member of the Baptist community, is one of the two great benefactors of Framlingham, the other being Sir Robert Hitcham, lawyer. There is no known portrait of Thomas. A Suffolk man, but not a native of Framlingham, Thomas came to the town in 1640 when he became an apprentice to one Edward Smith, wheelwright. Thomas obviously impressed his master, for in due course he inherited the business (1660). In 1662 he increased his fortune considerably by marrying Alice Groome, the widow of a wealthy Pettistree landowner. The marriage appears to have been a happy one but sadly Alice died in 1691, leaving all her estate to her husband. Thomas was a prominent member of the local Baptist congregation. In those days of religious persecution, this was a dangerous course and he narrowly escaped imprisonment on a number of occasions. Clearly, he was a man of principle as well as a man of business. When he died, Thomas left his fortune for good causes in Framlingham and other locations where he had had business interests. His will ordered the building of almshouses for the elderly poor which still stand - Pevsner calls them "a stately range". Unlike Hitcham's Almshouses, Thomas wanted people to be accepted whatever their religious convictions - a remarkable thing at that time.

The company was set up to bring Archery into the community for anybody and everybody. We want to break through some of the barriers that stop many people from entering into the sport. Archery can be a daunting sport to enter for people who just want to try the sport out. A big financial commitment at the outset can be off-putting. At Northern Archery we want to be different. We offer archery on a pay as you go option as well as the traditional club option paying fees annually. Martin Leonard I have been involved with archery since 2007. Like Ian, I did my beginners course with Kendal Bowmen and have not looked back. I started shooting the recurve bow, but after a short time, I picked up an English Longbow and I was smitten. I have now shot Longbow over 7 years. I own various Longbows but the one I prefer is an Aidy Hayes bow. I am currently part of the Cumbria Archery Association Squad. In 2013 I was part of the Cumbria Longbow Squad that won the Pentangle. Completed Archery GB and 1st for Sport Archery Level 1 coaching in 2012, I Am currently completing Archery GB level 2, I hold an enhanced DBS check and Educare Child Protection Awareness Certificate.
