He graduated with a dual M.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering & Engineering Management from the University of South Florida, and a dual B.S. degree in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering from University of Florida. Throughout his education and work experience, Mr. Hamidi has gained valuable experience in the field of leadership, research, education & management. He also has taught in Private and Charter Schools (K-12) including Nur Academy in 2019-2020. Brother Karim is very happy to be back and look forward to a great year ahead inshallah. Amel Abosamek Amel Abosamek is a homeroom teacher at Nur Academy. She was born in Alexandria, Egypt and earned her BS in Chemical Engineering from Alexandria University. Sister Amel has completed several professional development and educator training programs. She has 17 years of experience teaching Math and Science for all levels up to 8th grade. Jamila Ali Mrs. Ali. will be our Kindergarten/First grade teacher during the 2022-2023 academic year. She was born and raised in Sarasota, Florida and have been here for 30 years! Mrs. Ali grew up within the Muslim ISSB community and she is so honored to finally be giving back to the community by teaching our young Muslim children and much more. She graduated as an Education major from University of South Florida. She loves to read, cook, and spend time with her family in her spare time. Rana Elshamy Rana Elshamy received her B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of South Florida. After graduation, she realized that she was a teacher at heart, so she decided to pursue a career in teaching. Sister Rana has more than 12 years of experience at teaching. She has taught in different Islamic schools as well as at some public/charter schools. She is very excited to be part of Nur Acade Dina Gadelhaq Dina Gadelhaq teaches Quran and Arabic at Nur Academy. She was born and raised in Egypt and earned her BS in Accounting from Cairo University. She is a certified Nuraniyah teacher and has taught Quran and Arabic at Nur Academy for the past 4 years. Dina’s favorite quote is “teach your kids Quran and Quran will teach them everything.” ABOUT NUR ACADEMY Nur Academy is an independent, nonprofit, private Islamic school located in Sarasota, Florida. The Rose Arts London was always a childhood dream of mine and it was manifested through a pain in my life, with the loss of my Grandad; Charles Alexander Gardner. He, alongside my Mother and Nan, supported me with my dance and drama training, performance career and attended all classes, auditions and performances. When he passed away, it pushed me to embrace my artistry and passions. The Rose represents three things: A dedication to my Grandad; His favourite flower A name influence; My middle name Rosetta and my mother Rosemarie The flourish of each child who trains with us. As a seed they begin but as ‘The Rose’ they grow. Experience My training began at Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts and have been training in every discipline, since the age of 3 and teaching dance and drama since the age of 14. Ballet, Tap, Modern, Contemporary, Lyrical, Liturgical, Street Dance, Jazz, Commercial and Musical Theatre. Further to this, I attended college studied Performing Arts, obtaining distinctions in the art form, allowing me to receive an unconditional offer to University, where I obtained my degree in Dance Practice and Performance. I have had an extensive career in the arts, through stage, film and television and have received such amazing opportunities I am truly grateful for. About T.R.A.L. T.R.A.L. is a place for all Rose Students to discover, train, explore, create, challenge and motivate what they learn here and to ignite their passion, of why dance, drama, sport and song is such an amazing artistic outlet, which not only teaches creativity and utilises talent but also discipline. About Susanne Olbrich Music Background Susanne was born and raised in Germany. At the age of six she discovered her love for the piano and began her classical training. She went on to study music at Oldenburg University, known for its innovative music department. Besides her classical studies she explored contemporary music in its many expressions – jazz, pop, world music, experimental and improvised music. She completed her studies with a Master’s degree. Since the early 90s, Susanne has been following a career as independent music professional, dividing her time between performing and teaching. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAs a pianist and composer, Susanne’s work embraces classical, jazz, folk and world music. With her band Marama Trio she has recorded the album Continuations. We are a surface and product design studio, offering fresh and exciting surface finishes for the interior design industry. Our surfaces are characterised by their colour, pattern and craftsmanship and are all hand cast and finished in our Nottingham studio. HOW WE WORK We collaborate with architects, interior designers and creative agencies to deliver unique surface finishes for a wide range of projects. We work on a commission basis, developing clients initial ideas into one of a kind final products. Clients can choose from our range of in-house designs, customised versions of these or work closely with us to develop completely personalised outcomes. THE TEAM Olivia founded the studio in 2015 after completing a degree in textile design at Central Saint Martins. Olivia’s focus within the studio is on developing new surface finishes as well as working closely with clients to realise their ideas through colour and pattern experimentation.
