One of our key benchmarks for recognition in achieving our goals were the AEO Excellence Award for Security for 1998, 1999, 2000 & 2001 when the award ceased to be one of the categories. The Energis Customer Care Award & Investor in People standard in 1999. We have since achieved, from 2008 Approved Contractor Status with the SIA (Security Industry Authority). We have continued to excel and were recently nominated for best security company at the Event Productions Awards and Best Newcomer for one of our managers which was a great accolade for the team. Another major achievement and recognition is that we have maintained and retained our services to our clients since 1997; this is in the main due to our team, our staff and our service. We expanded our services to include Safety and Floor Management and in 2008 this became an independent Limited company. We have achieved many key events over the years and are proud to be part of some great events, such as the Olympics, The Queens’s Coronation Festival at Buckingham Palace, Royal Ascot, Glorious Goodwood to name a few.

After years of experience in the professional maritime industry, we decided to not only cover expedition sailing skills in a Morse Alpha Expedition but also emphasize crisis management, leadership, professionalism, and camaraderie. These are the skills that will keep you and your crew safely working together even in a crisis situation. Our programs cover a broad curriculum of hard skills such as sail theory, weather, technology, voyage planning, first aid at sea, engines, traditional navigation, emergency drills (MOB, drogue, fire, etc), VHF protocol, RADAR, anchoring, and more. But it doesn’t stop there. We also discuss communication and leadership, bridge resource management (BRM), maritime law and conduct, etc. Our philosophy is that even when you aren’t sailing a commercial vessel, you are still bound by the same laws, weather challenges, crew dynamics, and physical forces. Therefore, recreational sailing shouldn’t be taken lightly. But on the flipside – we love to laugh, bake cookies on cold days, dip in the ocean, and have fun. On a Morse Alpha Expedition you might be woken in the middle of the night to stand anchor watch on deck, or you might be laughing over a bowl of popcorn after a hard days work. After the purchase of a 1958 Pontiac hearse for $250, Enterprise Rescue Squad answered its first call in 1963. Seven members of the community trained in American Red Cross First Aid volunteered to staff the fledgling service which was headquartered on Main Street by Glover Avenue. Over time the service grew and acquired new ambulances and better equipment. In 1981 Dr. Andy Kirk put together the Service’s first structured Emergency Medical curriculum and “attendants” became EMT’s providing much better care for the community. As our ranks grew, we began to see the need for a new facility. In 1994 after much fund raising and hard work, Enterprise Rescue moved to our current location at 205 W. Lee Street. Our station includes a dayroom, kitchen, communications room, sleeping quarters, and a bay that houses 4 ambulances and a service lift. As the City of Enterprise grew and the demand for Emergency Medical Services increased, it became obvious that the change from volunteer to paid service was neccesary. In 1997 Enterprise Rescue Squad became Enterprise Rescue, Inc. Now with almost 20 years as a paid system, Enterprise Rescue has over 40 employees and 7 ambulances. We currently average over 11000 calls a year and operate three 24/7 ambulances and one day ambulance in Enterprise as well as one 24/7 ambulance and one day ambulance in Elba. With the addition of a separate administration and training building at 519 E. Lee Street, Enterprise Rescue has become a regional training facility for various programs and agencies. We hold over 100 classes a year ranging from basic first aid and CPR to critical care and specialty courses for advanced medical providers. Enterprise Rescue strives to provide the very best medical care for our coverage area. We are constantly finding ways to improve the quality of our services. From the newest state-of-the-art medical equipment and vehicles to ongoing training in the latest developments in emergency medicine, we will continue to serve our community with professionalism and pride.
