🌟 About Me: Hello there! I'm Julie, a dedicated professional in the driver education industry with a passion for guiding individuals towards becoming safe and qualified drivers. My journey began in 2003 when I achieved my qualification as a Driving Instructor, realizing a lifelong ambition and following in my father's footsteps. Helping young people navigate the road to safe driving has always been at the core of my mission. Life took an unexpected turn when my now ex- husband received an opportunity to work in Dubai, leading us to embark on a 15-year adventure in the Middle East. During this time, I temporarily stepped away from teaching. However, upon our return to the UK, the challenge of finding a Professional Driving Instructor for my 17-year-old daughter opened my eyes to the struggles parents face. This personal experience ignited my determination to re-qualify as an instructor, and I found immense joy in helping my daughter and other students achieve their driving dreams. In the wake of the global changes brought about by Covid, the demand for Driving Instructors soared. Distressed parents, unable to find professional help, approached me daily. Witnessing this struggle motivated me to create online courses, offering parents valuable insights and guidance for supporting their teenagers through the learning process. I also initiated the "Private Practice" Facebook Group, a community where I freely share advice to enhance home practice. 🚗 Online Courses: My online courses are designed to empower parents to provide the right support at home, ensuring their teenagers receive effective training. Having experienced the challenges firsthand, I understand the importance of quality instruction during private practice. Through these courses, I aim to bridge the gap and equip parents with the knowledge and skills needed to guide their teens safely to success. Whether it's learner drivers passing their tests or supervising drivers facilitating effective private practice,  I am here, committed, and ready to serve. Thank you for visiting my site and taking the time to look at my work. I am a textile artist, living and working in York. I create a lot using wool. This covers both my large, tactile pieces of felted art created from luscious merino fibres and my smaller, sculptural knitted and crocheted items. I began my career in community arts in Lincolnshire in 2002, before deciding to move to York to study Art and Design at York St John University. Since qualifying I have enjoyed a variety of jobs and roles within the creative sector. I am now back to where my main creative passion lies though, creating my own work and running workshops and textile classes around the UK to show others how to get the most out their own creativity. We are delighted to announce the appointment of Ellen Marsden as our new director of the Dorset Rural Music School. A former pupil of Chetham’s School of Music, Ellen graduated from The Guildhall School of Music and Drama as an Oboist, playing professionally for many years in leading orchestras in the UK and abroad; she was Principal Oboe of the Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville for five years, latterly becoming Principal Cor Anglais in the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra where she remained for nine years. In 2009, Ellen was appointed Director of Music at Sherborne Preparatory School, she later progressed to become a freelance Creative Project Manager and Producer developing large scale Schools and Community projects in the South West. Ellen has been living in North Dorset since 2000 and knows the county and its musical scene well. We are delighted to have secured her services and are confident that she will lead DRMS forward into an exciting future without losing sight of our original aims and ethos.

Under the tutelage of retired college teacher, Jim Lomas, the academy soon grew from 22 students to 50 students in 6 months. Private tutor and music shop owner Steven Austin also a music examiner came on board to help as the demand increased. In 2007 the academy became a registered company Blackpool Music Academy Community Interest Company Ltd by Guarantee (Registration number 609121028)

We provide the gloves. Please feel free to bring your own gloves. We sell wraps and can purchase gloves. Prices vary. Wash hands before and after training. Bring your own water bottle and named to avoid sharing. Your own towel if necessary. Arrive in your gym kit. Ensure that you have your hand wraps done and ask for support if needed. Please keep children supervised at all times and do not consume food other than in the community room We have a designated waiting room for parents to stay during any of the classes Please do not park on the car park or use for turning around. Please use the nearby streets for parking. Please ensure you take all of your belongings home. Please do not come to the gym if you feel unwell DO NOT EXPECT TO COME TO THIS GYM AND SPAR IF YOU HAVE NEVER BOXED. WE HAVE DESIGNATED CLASSES FOR THIS.
