The Diocese of Gloucester Academies Trust (DGAT) is a multi-academy trust established by the Diocesan Board of Education (DBE) in 2012. The Trust is part of the wider family of Church of England schools in the Diocese of Gloucester. More information about Diocesan Schools can be found here. Our purpose is to provide children of all faiths and none, with excellent educational provision which transforms lives within a caring and supportive Christian ethos. Our family of schools is fully inclusive and welcoming to all. There are currently 18 primary schools and one infant school within the Trust. Eighteen of the 19 academies have a religious designation as Church of England schools. All of the academies are located in Gloucestershire Local Authority. Supporting the spiritual, moral, social, cultural and physical development of each child, as well as maximising their progress, achievement and attainment to ensure their intellectual growth, is key. In tandem with this is the drive to support and develop the staff within the family of schools. In order to build strong learning communities, the Trust ensures that schools are confident and outward-facing in all that they do, building strong, effective links with parents, parishes, local schools, community groups and the wider educational community. The Trust has a high level of expertise in school improvement at a central level and within individual schools. This is used to support schools on their journey towards outstanding.

ewbury Speakers provides a safe, supportive and positive learning experience in which members learn to develop their communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth. Members learn and practice in a friendly, non-threatening environment. They learn and practice alongside other people who are there for the same reason. They are taught by people, who just like them, were hesitant about public speaking but have now successfully developed their public speaking skills. Together everyone grows and develops their confidence and communication skills. And, best of all, they usually have fun as they learn. As a non-profit organisation Newbury Speakers is run by volunteers that give their time to help run the club. Community Outreach Newbury Speakers has been part of the Newbury Community for over 35 years. The club has staged numerous events such as free workshops and a Speakers Corner in the Market Place. Members have given speeches at local networking clubs and facilitated Speechcraft courses for corporations in the area. Speechcraft is a program designed to help develop public speaking skills and confidence in front of an audience. These skills are learnt over six two-hour sessions, one session per week. During each session participants learn and practice speaking and communication skills, and have the opportunity to learn and receive feedback from experienced speakers. The skills learnt by the participants, are not only relevant to public speaking but to all situations where verbal communication is required.

Artist Bill Campbell arrived at Islington Mill in 1996, hiring a studio space in the partially-abandoned mill building that he saw every day across the road from his flat. Soon after arrival he invited other artists to join him and they began to host the first artist happenings. Islington Mill Arts Club as we know it was established in the year 2000 when Bill was able to purchase the whole of our listed building. He commenced a gradual programme of renovation, resulting in artist studios across four floors of the building, plus a large open space on the fifth floor and an atmospheric attic space on the sixth. Read more about our heritage here. We are now home to over 100 resident artists and collectives in the main mill building and adjacent engine houses. Following our successful capital build programme, and a fruitful partnership with Salford City Council, Islington Mill Arts Club now operates Regent Trading Estate, an adjacent plot of former industrial land where we have established new artist studios in former warehouse spaces, plus event spaces and a community garden. The Mill has always been a vibrant and resourceful cross-disciplinary creative network; a space where conversations leads to connections, collaboration and co-creation. Over the years our collaborative exploratory style has made our studios into a focal point for the north-west’s arts community, as well as visiting international artists and exchanges.

Participants gain self-esteem and a sense of place and belonging as well as teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills. The local community gains from a reduction in negative stereotyping and improved cohesion. Global learning produces greater awareness of the wider world and active support for the fight against global poverty. Global Education Derby (GED) is a registered charity based in Derby, established in 1991. As a Development Education Centre we are an independent, affiliated member of the Consortium of Development Education Centres (CoDEC) www.codec.org.uk/. We support schools and communities, locally and internationally, to nurture values and critical thinking skills needed to promote personal, local and global change. We have over 30 years of experience collaborating with organisations, teachers, youth workers and community educators to make sense of a complex and rapidly changing world. The learning methodologies that lie at the centre of our approach always: Produce a more outward looking mindset through exposure to global contexts and multiple perspectives. Develop creative and critical thinking. Increase self-awareness through reflexive questioning of values and ideas. Give the confidence and skills to take positive action.

The Lumbini Academic College (LAC) is an institution dedicated to higher education suitable for the 21st century. It is one of three educational institutions established and flourishing under the umbrella of the Lumbini Academic Foundation (LAF). LAC is set in a serene atmosphere at Chuchchepati, Chabahil. It provides personalized instructions in its regular basic education programs from pre-school to high school and university level education to a limited number of students using prescribed curriculum and materials. The LAF is guided by a concept for the need of an affordable educational institution which can offer education to pupils of different age groups and grades. A high academic standard is a priority for our school and it is being achieved through a body of well trained and highly qualified teachers. Our team of teacher is properly and actively assisted by the services of a dedicated and much disciplined body of administrative and technical staff. The LAC has placed high value on an innovative and practical way of teaching and learning.
