Who are we? We are Revved Up. We provide paid work experience for young people from L8 and the surrounding areas to prevent them from being involved in serious organised crime. What do we do? Young, disadvantaged people who are at risk are given opportunities to recruit for and co-facilitate youth projects, events and community consultations. During their time with us, young people are given the opportunity to join our list of members, contribute to/learn the operations/ day-to-day running of our community business, they are all also given personal development programmes, 1:1 coaching and mentoring, social prescribing and business start-up advice. We have regular staff trips and excursions to come up with ideas and celebrate recent successes, these are all chosen by the young people. Our community business originates from another organisation called This Is My Story Limited (TIMS). Over 5 years ago TIMS was founded by Phillip Taylor (1957-2021) Adam Taylor, Sophie Middleman, Mike Hobbs and Deborah Fitzsimmons. The purpose of this organisation was to work with disadvantaged young people involved in crime, drug activity, addiction and those who had severe mental health problems. Adam and his family have spent most of their lives in Toxteth L8 Liverpool and it is one of the most disadvantaged areas in the country. The majority of the work that TIMS did was in Toxteth working with young people (all of whom were referred by word of mouth) that needed help in one of these areas. When TIMS was 2 years old, our founder (Adam Taylor) noticed that the young people he was working with through TIMS expressed a desire to follow in his footsteps and decided to try and make that happen, that is when he started Revved Up Limited.

The School is a non-profit making organisation with over 100 pupils and employs over 20 members of staff. The management team includes talented individuals from the community who sacrifice their time for the betterment of our future generations, community and purely for the sake of Allaah (awj). We teach three core subjects; Qur’an, Islamic Studies and Qur’anic Arabic for 6 to 16+ year olds. We also have an Arabic wing dedicated to Arabic speaking children. We strive to attain the highest possible standards within the school. Staff work together with the pupils to ensure we achieve and maintain our goals. Our main purpose is to please Allaah ﷻ and provide a high standard of Islamic educational to our students. teve England Outdoor Learning was founded by Steve England, Conservation Educator, Horticulturist and Historian. Steve has extensive experience of working with schools, community and youth groups across Bristol to engage young (and older) people in outdoor learning and has worked in Stoke Park Estate for more than 40 years. Steve is a multi-award winning outdoor learning professional whose work is well-respected in Bristol and Nationally. Steve England Dogs In 2013, Steve was inducted into the Bristol Walk of Fame at Bristol Zoo in recognition of his work as a local conservation educator. In the same year, Steve was runner up in the UK’s ‘Council for Learning outside the Classroom’s’ “Lifetime Contribution to LOtC” award. He was recently awarded the Avon & Somerset Police Commissioner’s ‘Pride Award’ for his work supporting young people with a wide range of previous skills and experience, and engaging young people in positive outdoor learning activities at Stoke Park Estate. Throughout 2015, Steve has been working with Avon Wildlife Trust on the ‘My Wild City Project’ which aims to turn the whole of Bristol into a nature reserve. Steve is one of the project’s ‘My Wild City Champions.’ Steve has spent his life working in Stoke Park Estate and the nearby Frome Valley, witnessing and contributing to many changes aimed at improving Bristol’s wildlife. Steve continues to volunteer at Stoke Park Estate, supporting Stoke Park Action Group and other community-based organisations to maintain and develop the park for the benefit of the wider community. This work was recently recognised by Bristol Natural History Consortium which awarded Steve ‘Bristol’s Green Volunteer of the Year,’ in recognition of his ongoing commitment to improving the natural environment.
