In 1999, West Dunbartonshire SIP commissioned research on the needs of local young people from Dumbarton, Vale of Leven and Clydebank. Findings highlighted overwhelming support for the introduction of some form of youth information service. A steering group, comprising local young people and adults was set up and the idea of a youth led information and support project; for young people by young people was developed with funding from West Dunbartonshire Partnership, Scottish Enterprise Dunbartonshire and Greater Glasgow NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. In January the Y Sort-It Youth Information Centre on Kilbowie road was launched with four full-time members of staff, led by a management committee made up of the young members of the steering group and this committee is still the main driving force for the project today(though its members have changed from year to year). In 2014 Y Sort-It moved to its huge new base located besides the Clydebank Hub on West Thomson Street. Where before the base had been a small and sometime cramped place to hold meetings and groups the new base was is now a massive difference and as such the opportunities are now boundless. So please if you’re in the area why not drop in and you can help us to continue making fantastic history for the young people of West Dunbartonshire. Our Facilities Y Sort It youth centre provides a dedicated youth friendly space with various weekly youth activities offered throughout the West Dunbartonshire are . Our Y Sort It outreach bus helps provide youth activities across the local communities of West Dunbartonshire and our unique Carbeth hut, the Gillie Dhu, provides an opportunity for young people and children to enjoy the outdoors located in the Carbeth Hutting Community, Stirlingshire. We also developed a local shop front into a bike maintenance work shop & training space for our StreetBikes initiative.

Since Christopher drowned I/RASS have educated over 500.000 young people and adults across North Wales UK and Ireland as to the dangers of open water. From the beginning I wanted to create a Legacy which would leave a memorable impact on both young people and adults in making them more aware of their own and others safety. The strain on our emergency services over the years and ongoing research has proved that CPR First Aid and SABL Education particularly in Wales was not on our curriculum and therefore in 2021 RASS in Partnership with Ajuda Training will provide this extra service across Wales. This would help in many ways to reduce incidents where people were rescued and aid in the saving of lives using the education taught on a peer to peer basis. RASS works with all the emergency services across the UK and is proud to be involved in the – All Wales Drowning Prevention Strategy of which members are RLSS RNLI ROSPA CFOA MPA to name but a few. Awards RASS has received recognition from Emergency Services across the UK and beyond. Awards such as Free To Network Resilience In Business – Finalist Pride of Britain – Special Achievement Award National Lottery Awards – presented By Bear Grylls – WCVA Award – Liverpool Lifestyle Award – Special Achievement The project is needed as there is not enough Water Safety and Lifesaving Education. Young people take risks, drink alcohol, and put their lives and others in danger. There are a number of ‘Hot Spots’ in the local area and across North Wales where young people visit on a regular basis to have fun and which often are having to be chased away or rescued by our emergency services.

For as long as I can remember there has always been thread in some form or another in my life. Be it stitching embroidery kits,a french knitting dolly or even hooking a rug when I was a child. I formalized my threadiness with a three year apprenticeship at The Royal School of Needlework at Hampton Court Palace, receiving the best training in all aspects of hand embroidery. From goldwork to bothsides alike with canvas work, stumpwork, beadwork, jacobean and many other wonderful techniques thrown in for good measure. Upon completing my apprenticeship I went to work for Jimmy Choo couture and the Jim Henson Company. I followed that path towards status and salary. As a senior executive, I had it all; the flash car on the driveway, the luxury holidays and a well-respected position within the company. In addition, I was bringing up my children to be polite, well-rounded and ambitious. My home was clean and welcoming, freshly cooked dinners were served each mealtime and weekends were spent at an array of social events. It sounds fantastic and I had convinced myself that this was everything I wanted, but somehow I still felt unhappy. I brushed aside the sleepless nights and smiled despite regularly feeling overwhelmed. I believed that being permanently stressed and busy was a sign that I’d earned my stars. Stopped in my Tracks Even when the cracks started to show, I kept going. I couldn’t see any other option. It took a major blow to my health to completely take me out of action. I had no choice but to stop. My life as I knew it had come to an end. There’s no doubt that serious ill-health impacted every area of my life. However, rather than being a tragedy, it was a turning point. I had time to think and I finally accepted that I wasn’t healthy or genuinely happy. My lifestyle and my mindset needed to change. I decided to channel my energy into new pursuits, particularly those which would benefit my mental and physical health. I committed to fully embracing training in NLP Coaching, Rapid Transformational Therapy and Nordic Walking. Gaining accreditation and putting my skills into practice has helped me to change and gain confidence, whilst helping others to get more from their lives. I now have a new definition of success; a career where I help people to live lighter lives without pills or pain.

It seems almost unbelievable what a huge development F AIR has undergone during its existence. The original intention to found a company for the pleasure of flying has grown into one of the largest aviation schools in Central and Eastern Europe. We are extremely proud of the fact that we became the first private flight school in the Czech Republic in the early nineties, and that we defended our primacy in 2000, when we were the first to meet the requirements of the European Joint Aviation Regulations JAR-FCL 1 (Joint Aviation Rules) and thus became the international school CZ/FTO-001. Today, we can teach flying to a person of mature age who just wants to experience and feel the beauty of the third dimension, as well as a young boy or girl who wants to fulfill their dream and become a pilot of a commercial plane. Our school has the most modern technology and methodology it uses to train pilots, a corps of experienced instructors and a background that provides excellent conditions not only for students in training, but also for pilots who come to rent planes from us. In addition to the aviation school, our main services include aircraft sales and service, aircraft rental, aviation work, events for companies, aviation advertising and adventure flights. Even in these areas, we try to do everything to make our customers feel at home. We want to be a pleasant and meaningful place to provide all aviation services and to spend leisure time on the ground and in the air.
