My daughter began silently choking on a piece of toast and had started to turn purple, because of my training I remained as calm as can be in that situation and was able to get her in the correct position and give her some black blows and retrieve the nasty culprit. £20 I paid for that course, it was the best £20 I ever spent because my daughter's life is priceless. Helens professional history included time working as a Senior Nurse Advisor at NHS Direct a Resuscitation Nurse Trainer in Devon and latterly as a School Matron in a private school. David has worked with Helen for several years providing support in training and assessing groups until Helen handed over the reigns in the summer of 2017. David has had a rich career in Health Care. He started in the St John Ambulance aged 12, Joined the Army as a Combat Medical Technician at 16 and trained to work in Operating Theatres a few years later. In 1992 He qualified as a Registered General Nurse working children with disabilities, elderly care, prison health care, NHS Direct and going on to qualify and practice as Specialist Community Public Health Nurse. David began his training career as an Officer with the RAF Volunteer Reserve where he maintains his affiliation with the Combined cadet force to this day. Helen developed a training ethos of gentle, fun, educational and practice-based learning which David continues to deliver.
