Westernised psychology is based on a reductionist worldview - seeking to 'fix' problems and return the client to a baseline of 'normal' functioning - it views the body and mind as separate entities and primarily focuses on analysis. I hold a deeply loving, present space for my clients to unravel, exactly as they are - and witness the fruitful magic of transformation that this naturally brings. Shamanic healing is rooted in healing mental ailments as a 'disconnection from spirit' - my work is rooted in reigniting this relationship. The Sisters of St. Louis is a religious community which was founded in post-revolutionary France in 1842 in Juilly outside Paris. The founder of the order, Louis Marie Eugene Bautain, was guided by Christ’s prayer, Sint Unum – “that they may all be one”. His vision of a world healed, unified and transformed motivates the order to respond to the social, educational and spiritual needs of the time. The Sisters of St. Louis have been in Ireland since 1859, when three sisters came to Monaghan from the French Motherhouse near Paris. In 1949, at the invitation of Cardinal D’Alton, they set up a convent in Dundalk where they secured a site beside the historic 15th century Castletown Castle also known as Bellew’s Castle. The whole site is known as Dún Lughaidh. Four St. Louis sisters, Sr. Jeanne D’Arc, Sr. Hildegard, Sr. Dympna and Sr. Therese opened a secondary school on the site named St Louis Dundalk on 4th September 1950 and the school was located in what is now the convent house. The school started with 16 pupils and quickly expanded in numbers. The main school building was built and officially opened on 8th September 1953. St Louis was a boarding school for several years whilst also accepting day pupils

and I see you. I see you because I was you. I felt so stuck and overwhelmed. With a background in legal and corporate careers that span more than 25 years, I understand, all too well, about the pressures that can accumulate when trying to balance work, family and life. Following a bout of severe anxiety, I decided to focus on my own healing and retrained in numerous holistic and spiritual therapies while working full time. It was the path I had been looking for and I managed to ease some of that anxiety and pressure – for a while. The second time the anxiety returned, I was able to go within and ask – “What’s really going on here?” I understood that my body was reflecting what my soul wanted. I was suffocating under the pressure of having the perfect career, being the perfect wife and step-mother, being the perfect daughter. And I didn’t feel I was getting any of it right. So I took the leap. I chose to follow my heart and trust the pull to help others discover who they really were and what they truly wanted. In 2015, I left my job and started my own counselling and coaching practice and I haven’t looked back since.

Tariki Trust is a community of people who believe that our actions matter and our impact on others has consequences at many levels. Our spiritual and moral values are something which we live out, and that need to permeate all we do. They are not simply ideas or practices to be addressed in limited time slots during a busy day. Tariki Trust offers courses, training and retreats which centre on our shared interest in our living systems. These include training and events linked to ecotherapy, psychology, psychotherapy, environmentalism, spiritual care and other forms of engaged Buddhism. A UK registered Buddhist charity, Tariki Trust was founded in 2011 and has become an umbrella for a wide range of activities in these inter-related fields. Our non-sectarian outlook welcomes people from many backgrounds, some of whom are Buddhist, but many of whom are not, to share in building a vision of a more wholesome world, based on values of compassion, mutual support and care for our position as part of a greater system. Tariki Trust is a community of people who are interested in learning, ideas, creativity and social responsibility. We believe in practising through concern for others and engagement with life in all its forms. The name Tariki means 'other-power' in Japanese. Other-power is a fundamental concept in Pureland Buddhism and expresses our commitment to a collective, collaborative approach. It is also the basis for Other-Centred Approach, the model of psychotherapy which underpins many Tariki courses and events. The Other-Centred model is flexible, suggesting an attitude of engagement and encounter rather than of introspection and rigidity, and leading us to embrace many fields of involvement and cultural activities as well as the narrowly therapeutic. Many of Tariki Trust’s activities were run by an earlier organisation, established in 1996, and its course programmes have a history going back over several decades. Tariki Trust itself was established in 2011 in order to offer a dedicated space for these programmes and at this time the Ten Directions training programme in ecotherapy was also established. Tariki Trust is a UK Registered Charity Number 1149658. It has a board of trustees who oversee its work and ensure good practice. Tariki Trust does not have any salaried staff, but, rather, has teaching staff and others working on a sessional or occasional basis. This means that much of Tariki’s work in supporting courses and activities is done on a voluntary, dana basis. As a charity, Tariki Trust is subject to the jurisdiction of the UK Charity Commission and has a number of policies and guidelines in place for good practice. These can be viewed on our old website.

The academy has the highest standards over time in Teaching, Achievement & Progress, Student Behaviour, Leadership & Management, Safeguarding and other aspects, such as spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. A catalogue of awards continues to endorse the high achievement and rapid progress that the students and the academy make, year on year. The exemplary work of the academy is shared with other schools and academies locally, nationally and internationally. Cranford has played a key role in London's Gold Club, as a ‘Leading Edge’ academy, with the SSAT, PiXL and Challenge Partners networks and in association with the ‘National College for Teaching & Leadership’, just to name a few. Students and staff also benefit from its projects with partners such as the Institute of Physics, the British Council, various embassies and key universities. It is always amazing to reflect upon the enormous range of curricular and extra-curricular events, activities, trips and enrichment opportunities that have helped to develop and realise the potential and the differing talents that exist within our student and staff population.
