Gymtopia North East Gymnastics Club

gymtopia north east gymnastics club

Newcastle

Gymtopia North East Gymnastics Club opened on the 18th November 2014 and first began in both Kenton School sports hall and Wallbottle School sports hall with 3 gymnasts and 2 coaches; one of them being head coach and director Felicity Brown. Felicity had always dreamed of opening her own club to cater for the local community and beyond, giving the potential for participants from all backgrounds to enjoy the sport of Gymnastics. Gymtopia quickly expanded to include multiple classes and in April 2017 opened in its own premises in Brunswick, Newcastle to accommodate the growing number of gymnasts in the club. Gymtopia is fully affiliated with British Gymnastics. Gymtopia now houses over 500+ Gymnasts from Grassroots to national level and hopefully in the future compulsory elite. Beyond this, Gymtopia has 12 recreational classes per week and has developed a growing preschool section to encourage any future gymnasts and increase participation levels from an earlier age. Gymtopia aims to provide opportunities for all, including recreational, competitive and coaching opportunities. Gymtopia believes that sporting participation has great value in the lives of all, beyond the sport. Gymnastics teaches hard work, determination, teamwork and discipline. It is with this work ethic that has enabled Gymtopia to have gymnasts compete all over the country since its opening in 2014, including representing the North of England region at National Finals multiple times. In 2018, Gymtopia also expanded to International competition, competing in Malta. The gymnastics club offers a range of disciplines including recreation, preschool, women’s artistic, women’s general, men’s general and Teamgym. Gymtopia aims to give back to all its members and so Felicity has created the club to be a non-profit community club, all proceeds are invested back into the club for future expansions, increased participation and gymnast development. Gymtopia is currently in the process of becoming a CASC (Community Amateur Sports Club) in order to support our core values of being a non-profit club and catering to the wider community.

Our basic model works in two ways: Community classes for adults age 18 and up are run out of our Shawlands Language Nest, offered on a semester basis, in-person and online for a period of 10 weeks each time. These classes are bookable by individuals through our website here. The surplus revenue from these community classes cross-subsidise our work with older adults, including those living with dementia in care homes, community groups and day centres across Scotland. These care classes are only bookable in partnership with an organisation. If you are interested in this kind of class and are acting on behalf of your organisation, you can book a taster classes of this type here. The Language Nest A picture of students from our 2022 Summer Semester in the cosy Shawlands Language Nest! We run classes for adults of all ages in our very own Lingo Flamingo Language Nest, located in Shawlands, Glasgow, an area known for its vibrancy, diversity and strong sense of community. We still use the same sensory, stimulating techniques to make classes fun and accessible, but these classes are designed for those living without a dementia diagnosis from age 18 upwards. We also continue to emphasise the health benefits and show that language learning can be for everyone. All the money that is raised through the Language Nest gets put towards our work with older adults including those living with dementia. That’s to say, each and every penny of surplus revenue is used to cross-subsidise classes for older adults and those living with dementia across Scotland. As such, the Nest not only acts as a way to change perceptions of language learning, but as means to expand our social impact. It also means that any student joining our flock will not only gain from the benefits of language learning, but can feel good about having created a positive effect on society. Everyone’s a winner.

The Pls Tutors

London

Who are PLS Tutors? We're a maths tuition firm looking to change the way in which tuition is done by making it much more personal and giving students all of the tools they need, all of the time. Our aim is to provide high quality, competent tuition that stimulates students and encourages them to reach their full potential. Our Philosophy Tuition in general is far too orientated around learning in the actual sessions, and students are often left wondering how to revise and where to get started when the session ends. But at PLS we believe students should have all the tools they need 24/7. That's why at PLS we aim to create a much more personal learning experience outside of our sessions too. Our Solution We created the PLS Learning Community. Suppose you're revising and you come across a challenging question. You don't know where to start. You spend lots of time searching the web for tutorials and pointers, but none of them are very effective. You then realise you're part of the 'PLS Learning Community'. You screenshot the question you're stuck on and send it into the Community Discord. One of our professional tutors responds, guaranteed, within four hours with a pointer on how to tackle the question and even an in-depth solution to see how the question should be tackled. You now don't have to endlessly search the web for answers. You now don't have to wait until your next maths lessons in a few days time to ask your teacher for help. That is how learning should be. All the tools you need at your disposal. All of the time. What We Offer Competent tuition both online and in-person from DBS checked tutors. An inclusive, high value community where students have all the tools they need at their disposal 24/7. Coach’s Chris and Lara were living in Ealing, West London when they spotted a gap in the market for activities for young people aged 18 months – 12 years. They have developed Footy Fun 4 Kids sessions as a way of developing young people in all aspects of life. Football as the tool, allows their coaches to work closely with the young participants at developing confidence, social skills and independence, whilst increasing physical exercise and, of course, learning new football skills! A high percentage of young people are excluded from the game at a very young age due to a number of factors. Footy Fun 4 Kids activities welcomes all young people to the game and nurtures their inner footballer. We give your child a positive introduction to football, coaching high quality football skills in a friendly, fun and learning environment. FF4K VALUES At Footy Fun 4 Kids we believe it’s important for young people to buy into our coaching values and carry them with them in all that they do. All sessions are based around these values and core skills, where we progress young people across the various levels of the club Our values have been developed with more than just football in mind. All sessions are delivered via a child centred approach with a huge focus on having fun with friends: Promote a healthy lifestyle for children Provide safe, fun and engaging sports sessions for all Act as role models within the local community Be professional and the best we can be at all times For those young people wishing to progress to a more competitive game, Footy Fun 4 Kids offers annual trials at our newly formed sister club Northfields United.

I want to help you feel fitter, healthier and more confident. Over the last decade I have helped hundreds of women on their fitness journeys and learnt invaluable tools and tips along the way about how to get you the best most sustainable results possible and I want to give that all to you. I am passionate about fitness and health and helping you is what drives me to keep going. My workouts and programs bring all my experience and knowledge together and provide you with the tools you need to achieve your fitness goals. With a Warrior community of support you'll enjoy every step of the journey. Where It Started In a small martial arts club in Essex where I found my fitness, my confidence and my strength and realised just how important exercise is for both mental and physical wellness. That initial training has never left me and even now I can still hear the words of one of my trainers ringing in my ears 'Just get on with it Jamie!' So I do, every day, I get on with the business of fitness of bringing fitness to as many people as I can so that you can experience the power that exercise has to transform your life My Goals To continue bringing the love and power of exercise to as many people as possible and if we can have fun along the way then it's even better. I have a particular interest in Womens health and wellness and as well as donating regularly to the national charity Women's Aid, I fundraise where possible and help spread awareness to help women and girls in this country and abroad and I would love every year for my fundraising to grow and grow and grow!
