Our project vision is to create vibrant local, regional and European learning communities, fuelled by Regional Learning Facilitators. We need new organisational concepts and ownership of issues and concerns from the crowd. Our approach lies in analog and digital networking and support structures that take into account the value of informal networks. The key message of the project is: “When we share, we win”. By learning communities, we mean forms of exchange and cooperation organised by ourselves or supported by the community, which ideally are supported by the involvement of education authorities. The Learning Communities deal with solutions to upcoming problems in everyday education, with challenges of the education system at different system levels, with the creation, exchange and further development of teaching materials, etc. The Learning Communities are also involved in the development of new teaching materials and in the development of new teaching methods. As concrete project goals, we see: the training of 24 Regional Learning Community Facilitators at least 12 Regional Learning Communities in 4 European countries the creation of a European cross-border learning community with at least 48 active members The development of a Learning Community Facilitator Curriculum, which will later become a standard KA1 workshop offer. the development of an AI-supported passive networking platform for teachers and school stakeholders to test a further development option for eTwinning that currently relies only on active search functions Our target group is teachers and their reference system. Our aim is to indirectly support the work of the teachers and to facilitate their planning, implementation and follow-up of their lessons by focusing on the principles of cooperation and exchange. Through active networking, but also by pointing out connection possibilities, teachers should no longer have the feeling of being alone in the corridor but embedded in a professional system that also brings them more self-confidence and self-efficacy.

S B Business Services is all about providing advice and solutions to ensure possible or potential issues and bottlenecks are quickly identified My career began as a Personal Assistant for a group of Accountants and Auditors. I studied Sales and Marketing whilst working as a Care Worker in the Community, seeing the other side of life which most of us either avoid or deny. Later, I started a family. As my children were growing up, I decided to establish my consultancy business, consulting for a local independent newspaper, a local pallet company as well as, Admiral Commercial Cleaning, a valued client to this day. In addition, I branched out into Health and Safety Management then Management in Construction and qualified as a trainer, assessor and IQA. I continued consulting part-time for small businesses and worked in the local community piloting community projects, in mentoring. Following a successful pilot project for the Local Authority, I was “head-hunted” by the HMPS to create a mentoring scheme for “Lifer prisoners.” This project was a success, reducing re-offending in young adults by 40% across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Due to the prison closure in March 2013, the project continues in-house today. In 2015 I was awarded "Outstanding for contribution to the Business” achieving a growth of 1mm in 12 months, Leading the training provision for government contracts (SFA and ESF) with Department of Work & Pensions - Southeast, Hampshire, Isle of Wight. I continued the journey of life-long learning and completed studies in Teaching, Assessing and Internal Quality Assurance, consulting for local colleges South Downs & Havant College, Basingstoke, and Fareham. I serve on the IAP (Independent Advice Panel) for the DSPG (Defence College of Logistics, Policing and Administration). Volunteering as a committee member of the Southwick D-Day Revival - a pioneering, independent community group who focus on raising money for SSAFA.

The Armed Forces Network (AFN) started in Sussex in 2011 and is a multi-organisational group which includes members from the NHS, MoD, Armed Forces Reservists, Mental and Physical Health Clinicians, the Royal British Legion, SSAFA and other interested charities and organisations from across Sussex (i.e. police and local authorities). In July 2016, this model was rolled out to Kent and Medway and is commissioned by the Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) across both Sussex and Kent & Medway. The members work together to improve the lives of the Armed Forces community (ex and serving personnel and their immediate families). The AFN also includes Service Champions from a wide range of the organisations across both counties who are advocates for the Armed Forces community and have the skills and knowledge to support through direct service provision, linking with other organisations or signposting to where additional support could be received. It is managed by the Armed Forces Director for both Sussex and Kent & Medway ICBs. Each Network aims to facilitate the ICBs and the local community in the delivery of the Armed Forces Covenant Commitment and the Armed Forces Act 2021. In November 2014, the AFN won a National Military and Civilian Health Partnership Award for its work on education, training and research with local military personnel. The AFN was commended for its work on developing a unique set of relationships to ensure organisations are identifying and meeting the specific needs of the Armed Forces community through local health and care services. The Support Team has continued to develop and deliver a range of resources, many of which are contained within this website. These included a wide range of CPD and other accredited courses, factsheets, flip tools of contacts, topic area specific pathways. This continued growth has been recognised in the national Soldiering On Awards where the Network was been a finalist for two years and a winner in 2020.

Autism Bedfordshire’s services help break down the barriers to social participation for autistic people and their families by providing places where they can go and feel comfortable, accepted and not judged by society. With the encouragement and support of specialist trained staff we help autistic people build their confidence, self-esteem, and social skills through taking part in social activities and mixing with other people. Furthermore, we help them to develop practical skills and independence which will improve their prospects in life and help them be part of the community. Our aspirations are for them to have the same opportunities as people who are not on the spectrum, so that they can enjoy fulfilled and rewarding lives. How we can help The physical and emotional stress of looking after an autistic child or adult is a huge strain on the parents and we want them to feel that they are not alone in their struggles. They can come to us for practical advice, information and emotional support so that they will be better equipped to cope with and care for their autistic children and any other siblings. We provide opportunities for them to have a guilt-free break from their caring responsibilities, safe in the knowledge their autistic child is being well looked after by staff who understand the challenges that autism can present. Communities Finally, we raise awareness of autism in the community in order to reduce misunderstanding about the condition. Through training and informative talks we educate schools, local businesses and community groups about the sort of behaviours that an autistic person may display and how best to respond to and be supportive of them. With our increasing presence at community events, members of the public can also become more knowledgeable about and accepting of autism. In this way we hope that autistic people will find it easier to engage with and integrate into mainstream society.

Gymtopia North East Gymnastics Club opened on the 18th November 2014 and first began in both Kenton School sports hall and Wallbottle School sports hall with 3 gymnasts and 2 coaches; one of them being head coach and director Felicity Brown. Felicity had always dreamed of opening her own club to cater for the local community and beyond, giving the potential for participants from all backgrounds to enjoy the sport of Gymnastics. Gymtopia quickly expanded to include multiple classes and in April 2017 opened in its own premises in Brunswick, Newcastle to accommodate the growing number of gymnasts in the club. Gymtopia is fully affiliated with British Gymnastics. Gymtopia now houses over 500+ Gymnasts from Grassroots to national level and hopefully in the future compulsory elite. Beyond this, Gymtopia has 12 recreational classes per week and has developed a growing preschool section to encourage any future gymnasts and increase participation levels from an earlier age. Gymtopia aims to provide opportunities for all, including recreational, competitive and coaching opportunities. Gymtopia believes that sporting participation has great value in the lives of all, beyond the sport. Gymnastics teaches hard work, determination, teamwork and discipline. It is with this work ethic that has enabled Gymtopia to have gymnasts compete all over the country since its opening in 2014, including representing the North of England region at National Finals multiple times. In 2018, Gymtopia also expanded to International competition, competing in Malta. The gymnastics club offers a range of disciplines including recreation, preschool, women’s artistic, women’s general, men’s general and Teamgym. Gymtopia aims to give back to all its members and so Felicity has created the club to be a non-profit community club, all proceeds are invested back into the club for future expansions, increased participation and gymnast development. Gymtopia is currently in the process of becoming a CASC (Community Amateur Sports Club) in order to support our core values of being a non-profit club and catering to the wider community.

I am absolutely thrilled and honoured to take up the mantle of Headteacher at Tewkesbury School. When I first visited the school and the town back in 2021, I was struck by the community feel, the passion for the town and the dedication of the staff team for all the young people. I distinctly remember the pride with which the student guides spoke of the school and of their community and the ambition the team at Tewkesbury School had for every student. This will be my second Headship in the South West and my 20th year in education and I am excited to guide Tewkesbury School through its next phase. Headteachers are custodians of schools on behalf of young people and it will be my privilege to work with the whole community from governors, parents, students, colleagues and primary colleagues to other partners in the town, county and region to make sure Tewkesbury School is strong, effective and serving our children to the best of its ability. The greatest successes come from working together towards a common cause and there is no better cause than the education of the next generations. I am keenly ambitious about our future as a school so will continue the drive towards the highest standards academically and behaviourally whilst still ensuring we remain an inclusive school serving the Tewkesbury community. Our basic model works in two ways: Community classes for adults age 18 and up are run out of our Shawlands Language Nest, offered on a semester basis, in-person and online for a period of 10 weeks each time. These classes are bookable by individuals through our website here. The surplus revenue from these community classes cross-subsidise our work with older adults, including those living with dementia in care homes, community groups and day centres across Scotland. These care classes are only bookable in partnership with an organisation. The Language Nest A picture of students from our 2022 Summer Semester in the cosy Shawlands Language Nest! We run classes for adults of all ages in our very own Lingo Flamingo Language Nest, located in Shawlands, Glasgow, an area known for its vibrancy, diversity and strong sense of community. We still use the same sensory, stimulating techniques to make classes fun and accessible, but these classes are designed for those living without a dementia diagnosis from age 18 upwards. We also continue to emphasise the health benefits and show that language learning can be for everyone. All the money that is raised through the Language Nest gets put towards our work with older adults including those living with dementia. That’s to say, each and every penny of surplus revenue is used to cross-subsidise classes for older adults and those living with dementia across Scotland. As such, the Nest not only acts as a way to change perceptions of language learning, but as means to expand our social impact. It also means that any student joining our flock will not only gain from the benefits of language learning, but can feel good about having created a positive effect on society. Everyone’s a winner.
