Was born in Africa and lived in Lagos until her 9th birthday when her family moved back to the UK and more specifically Cornwall. Moving to Cornwall at such a key age shaped her passions and future in so many ways. Having always been in swimming pools and the sea in Africa the love of water intensified on the beautiful beaches and in the crashing Atlantic surf of the Cornish Coastline. The sea and its different moods have always been in her life. Being a keen surfer in her teens her love of playing in and with the elements became all encompassing when she discovered the thrill of kitesurfing. A pioneer in the early days of the sport she set up one of the first schools in the UK, and competed on the world circuit with her highest ranking being 3rd in the world. She also enjoyed other kiting challenges and set a world record by kitesurfing from Cornwall to Ireland ( under her maiden name Wharry), She discovered Glass by accident, through her landlady whilst studying at Falmouth art college, falling instantly in love with the look and the process of working with glass she decided to specialise in Architectural Stained Glass at Swansea. Though not actively working with glass during her sporting career, the fascination never left. Now retired from competition, glass is back as the focus of her passion. “Its colour, its reflections and translucent quality instantly captured my heart. To me it has a similar quality to water. It is enigmatic you can look at it, or through it. It is there and not there and can create a potent visual effect, either opulent or subtle. I love the challenge of designing for different buildings, interiors and people, whether a large architectural piece or an intensely personal small piece. “ Dreya

Bishopton Equestrian centre is a family run yard on the Stockton, Darlington border in Bishopton village. We are a professional, family run livery yard and competition centre, housing 38 livery horses and running shows from Unaffiliated dressage, Showing, Clinics, Showjumping and more. The centre is owned and run by Katherine and Adam, who also run West House equestrian centre and West House Trailers 1 mile up the road. Katherine is a qualified BHSAI and competed for a number of years on 13.2hh – 14.2hh ponies in affiliated showjumping. Katherine competed horses at open level BSJA under training from top international showjumper Tim Stockdale. Katherine now travels up and down the country and to Ireland with her 16 year old daughter Emilie, who currently competes BS nationally on 148cm ponies And her 9 year old daughter Evie who jumps 138cm ponies. Katherine competed on BSJA ponies as a junior and since the age of 18, she is a qualified riding instructor (BHSAI) as well as selling horses/ponies and running her livery yard and trailer business. Katherine has turned her attention more towards teaching, training and her livery clients, rather than selling the ponies. Katherine and her staff run a super-efficient yard, concentrating on caring for showjumping ponies, livery horses, schooling ponies and many more. Katherine and Adam have a dedicated team of staff, which in order to keep their yard to the highest of standards. Adam also runs his own business… West House Contactors and is an experience machine driver who specialises in both agricultural and equestrian services. Katherine, along with partner Adam, also run www.westhousetrailers.co.uk specialising in new Cheval Liberte and debon trailers and used IFor Williams. Situated in the heart of the community of Driffield, we are a unique and special place to learn. ‘Learning for Life’ is the foundation of all we do at Kings Mill and underpins our whole curriculum from Early Years through to Sixth form. The school caters for pupils aged 2-19 years. We are on two sites. The main school site houses Early Years through to Key Stage 4. The school was completed in May 2017 and has been purpose built to meet the needs of our pupils. Alongside eleven new classrooms we also have a new hydrotherapy pool, rebound room, sensory therapy room and sensory rooms. Students aged 16-19 are based at The Kings Mill Student Centre which is based at Driffield Secondary School approximately a mile away from the main site. This comprises three classrooms and a combined common room and food technology area. There is also opportunity for joint working with Driffield School. Our sixth form students also visit main site to access the facilities as required. All our pupils and students have complex needs and we offer specialist provision for pupils on the autistic spectrum and pupils with multi-sensory needs. Our curriculum principles and ethos are supported by a wide range of activities which happen on and off site. Sport plays a very important role in the life of the school and we believe in encouraging healthy competition and leadership skills.
