Library of Things and Repair Cafes. We are currently (as of Spring 2021) introducing HOW TO Reduce your Carbon Footprint workshops within the Share and Repair Shop and as a pilot project within primary schools. Another strand of ‘sharing’ is our Library of Things. We started this at the Weston Hub in November 2018 and changed our official name to Share & Repair in line with our expanded vision. We become a charity: In April 2020, Share and Repair gained charitable status as a CIO (charitable incorporated organisation) no 1189015. This is a major milestone for us and means we are accountable and can now raise funds through grant making trusts and from Gift Aid. We opened our first pop-up shop: In June 2020 we hit another major milestone when we opened the doors to the Share and Repair Shop in the centre of Bath. Our first location on Broad Street had an incredible response, raising awareness of sharing and repairing in Bath. In August 2021 we moved to another location at 3 York Buildings, George Street (BA1 2EB), which is now the new home for the Bath Library of Things and a place where we run even more repair sessions. HomeKIT launches: In Spring 2021 we officially launch HomeKIT. This is a new project that will see us taking donations of good-quality but unwanted kettles, irons and toasters and sharing these ‘home kits’ with partner charities who will distribute them to low-income households. If items need repairing, we certainly have the skills and means to do so. We’re really excited about expanding our work in this way and working with other organisations.

She trained as a Registered General Nurse at Guys Hospital in London and went on to work in the fields of orthopaedics and plastic surgery. She specialised in accident and emergency nursing and spent many years as an A&E sister and practice nurse. For 6 years she worked as a freelance trainer and in 2005 Clarimed was born. Claire has a contagious enthusiasm for delivering high quality, stimulating training and she qualified as a practitioner of Neuro-linguistic Programming in 2010, which has enhanced her knowledge of communications in healthcare. Claire’s passions are painting, art history and rugby!

Our children’s centre is part of the wider Wigan Council Start Well network offering the activities that you can enjoy. We provide support and services for the communities of Hindley and Hindley Green; Abram and Platt Bridge; Ashton and Bryn. Start Well Family Centres are working with residents and supporting them to get involved in the Start Well offer, building on the attributes and strengths of communities in the borough. Platt Bridge Start Well Family Centre is integrated within the school building. Our Start Well Family Centre offers families with young children the opportunity to access good quality early years provision and other health, family support and employment related services. Within our Start Well Family Centre we work with a range of partners and other groups to provide: Early years provision - full day care for 0 - 3 year olds, Nursery education places and extended care places for 3 - 4 year olds, before, after school and holiday care places for 3 - 11 year olds Crèche facilities Parent and child groups/activities Childminder's network Parenting and family support services Education, training and employment services Access to health and other wider services, including Job Centre Plus Jo Robinson is our Start Well Family Centre Manager she works closely with children, families and the community to identify the services required within Platt Bridge, Hindley, Abram, Bryn and Ashton. In our team we also have a Senior Start Well Worker and three Start Well Workers who are available for families to speak to at any time. We have two Early Years Workers who deliver a range of activities and projects for families and children. Our Receptionist/Information Worker is always on hand at our Platt Bridge site to offer any advice or information required. SCDC was Founded on June 6th 2011 by Katie Tonkin-Beardmore, SCDC Dance School has grown to become one of the biggest and best-known dance schools in the S-O-T Area. Offering a wide range of classes for all ages & abilities. All Performers/Dancers Will Build Up To Perform In Our Dance School’s Annual Show & Performances held every year. Our aim is to keep kids happy, healthy and out of trouble, since lockdown hit we have seen children’s confidence hit rock bottom, and our aim is to help them get it back. Katie and her amazing team of teachers strive to get the best from your children. If your child is sat at home constantly on their phones/devices SCDC is the best place for them. We will help your child’s confidence by improving their fitness and give them a better social life, making new friends and feeling safe in the environment we provide. We offer classes in Street & Hip Hop Dance, Ballet, Jazz/Commercial, Gymnastics,Singing, Fitness, Yoga, Self Defence, Drama & Musical Theatre. IDTA Exams in Street Dance offered every year. Workshops with Famous Industry Teachers from all over the Globe held every 3 months for extra training. Newcomers are welcome to trial our classes FREE of charge, Booking is required in case our classes have reached full capacity. When arriving at SCDC head to the main reception to speak with our receptionist, upon your arrival you will be given a welcome pack this will include everything you need to attend for the duration of your stay. Uniforms are NOT required at SCDC, we give you the option to buy. Clothing needed for your child/yourself : anything that is breathable, Leggings, Joggers, T-shirts/Hoodies, Trainers for footwear is perfect. The dancer/performer can join in or watch during the FREE trial, parents must wait in the waiting room provided & also view from the viewing windows, whilst enjoying a nice cup of Tea or Coffee. Our studios have a small Confectionary & catering area, feel assured if your peckish or thirsty we have food and drinks available to buy.
