Academic Excellence When studying in the UK, you will find that practical and utility-based knowledge is preferred over text-book learning. This will enable you to acquire critical thinking and analytical skills along with creative ability in your chosen discipline. Quality Education The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) is an independent body in the UK that regularly assesses the education standards of all universities and colleges in the country. This is ensures all students have access to the best quality of learning, research and teaching irrespective of the course they choose to pursue. Shorter Duration Courses in the UK education system are shorter and more intensive than many other countries, which means you’ll graduate sooner, and without compromising on quality. While you can complete an undergraduate program in three years, you’ll be able to finish a graduate program in just one year. This not only saves your time, but also a chunk of money spent on tuition fees and living costs. Work while you learn To manage your everyday living expenses along with your studies, you can work part-time for up to 20 hours a week during term time. You can even work full-time during your semester break. This will help you pay for your bills as well as gain industry experience in your own field of study as well. Explore Europe while studying The UK is well connected to major European countries like France, Netherlands, and Belgium, being the closest at distances ranging from 300 – 1,000 miles. With the airport being functional 24 hours, you can explore different places while studying in the country. Health benefits for students As an internationals student, you’ll have access to free medical treatment while studying in the UK through the National Health Service (NHS). In order to avail this benefit, you will have to pay a small International Health Surcharge (IHS). Your IDP counsellor can advise you about this detail.

Meg Brettell Fitness

meg brettell fitness

Hello there and thank you for stopping by my website. My name is Meg Brettell and I couldn’t be more excited about sharing my story and everything I know about health and fitness with you. Hopefully it will inspire and help you on your own fitness journey. Fitness has always been a part of my life. Both my parents were or had been in the fitness industry at some point and I grew up being a part of every sports team and club at school. Dancing was a large part of it and I went on to study professional stage dance at college after school. I had danced since I was 3 and It had always been my dream to be a dancer until I injured my back in my final year of tuition. So I taught dance and cheerleading to primary and secondary girls for a couple of years before it was back to the drawing board and with the love of health and fitness and wanting to help people,I went down the trainer path. I first done my exercise to music and my gym qualification then onto my Level 3 personal training certificate. In 2013 I was looking at bikini and fitness models and competitors online in America and said to my old man “I want to look like that!” And his response was “great, go do it.” Without any knowledge or experience in this field I set out to do my research. I started looking at shows, competitors, supplements, training, how to cut, how to bulk, stage tan, bikinis, shoes… the list was endless. I hadn’t thought about a coach before as didn’t know they existed then (now everyone and their gran seems to be one). My dad was a bodybuilder in his teens and early 20s so asked him for a little help. And by little he told me if I was looking okay or needed to be leaner. Very funny when I look back now.

Ilkleymathstutor

ilkleymathstutor

I am an experienced teacher based in Ilkley specialising in Secondary School Mathematics. I offer individual tuition in Maths for pupils from Upper Primary School through GCSE to A Level. By working as a tutor on a one-to-one basis I can build on the teaching received in school by identifying their individual needs and recognising and resolving their difficulties with this key subject. I believe all young people have the ability to achieve in Mathematics and the key ingredient is having confidence that you can master the topic. Many people are familiar with that feeling of not knowing where to start in maths and the loss of confidence undermines motivation making understanding difficult. By working with a tutor pupils can identify what they are able to do and then progress from the point at which they feel secure. Pace and approach is individually tailored to their needs and compliments methods already met in school. I have worked in Maths Education throughout my adult life. I gain a great deal of pleasure from working with young people and contributing to their development. For me the greatest reward professionally comes when a pupil has been struggling with a topic and suddenly they ‘get it’. I am also available to tutor adults who are seeking to improve their maths or need support to gain a maths qualification. During in the COVID 19 pandemic I continued to tutor using Zoom. This worked well and there are some advantages to using this medium - sharing IT content, recording worksheets plus no need for the student to travel to a lesson. Face to face tutoring is also an option at my home address, where I have a dedicated tutoring room. I shall be pleased to discuss the assistance you or you child needs and also the most suitable method for teaching the maths session. If relevant, you are welcome to visit so I can show you the room I use for tutoring. My home address is close to both Ilkley Grammar and Moorfield schools.

Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School

smith vocational and agricultural high school

Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School was established as a result of a bequest in the will of Oliver Smith. Mr. Smith was born in Hatfield, Massachusetts in 1766. He engaged in farming at an early age, and acquired large wealth by stock-raising. He was a magistrate for forty years; twice he was a representative to the legislature; and in 1820, he was a member of the State constitutional convention. He never married and may have been considered eccentric by his neighbors, but he amassed a large fortune, which he bequeathed to establish the "Smith Charities," a unique system of benevolence. At his death in 1845, his estate was valued at nearly $400,000; and the will was contested by his family. Legendary lawyer and legislator Daniel Webster successfully defended the will for the city of Northampton. The fund for the Agricultural School became available for use in 1905, and the amount of $50,000 was turned over to the City of Northampton for the purchase of land on which to build Smith School. The school opened for students in 1908 as the first vocational school in Massachusetts. Since 1845, when the fund to develop an agricultural school was established, Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School has been at the forefront of a movement toward excellence in vocational training. Today, Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School is a public high school for residents of Northampton and tuition students from all of Hampshire County on a "space available" basis. Students spend alternating weeks in shop and academic programs as they prepare for both a high school diploma and a Certificate of Occupational Proficiency. Graduates of Smith School are expected to meet academic standards, achieve occupational competency, develop ready-to-go work skills, and prepare for continuing education. Integration of technology in course work is encouraged, and students have access to state-of-the-art computer labs with Internet capability. A focus on the acquisition of key life skills-good work habits, reliability, self-confidence, resilience, problem-solving-serves to guide students in their personal growth.

Talent is not a prerequisite The Suzuki approach stimulates and develops musical abilities inherent in all children. Despite its sustained record of success exemplified in the many distinctions won by LSG students in music examinations, competitions and scholarships to major schools and conservatoires, the LSG’s overriding achievement is the provision of joy through music making, and the enrichment of the lives of the families involved in the learning process. The Alliance Française de Londres is an educational charity dedicated to teaching the French language. Our native French teachers are fully qualified and committed to providing a high standard of tuition that takes you through a structured syllabus from beginner to fluent. In 1987 the Alliance moved to its permanent home at 1 Dorset Square, NW1, where we have air-conditioned classrooms and a library, all equipped with interactive white boards. The Alliance Française de Londres gives you a truly authentic French experience, the next best thing to actually going to a French-speaking country. We are all here because we want to be. We love teaching and we love London and the great variety of people living or working here or just passing through. We are committed and enthusiastic sharers of French language and culture and we welcome everyone. As an apolitical and non-denominational organisation the AllianceFrançaise de Londres was a pioneer in multicultural teaching. We are truly broad-based and inclusive. The Alliance Française de Londres has a long and distinguished history. Our roots go back to 1884 and the London Alliance Française took over rallying the network during the second World War when the Paris Alliance was closed down. For a glimpse of our history retrouvée see AFL down the years. Our building housed a sectionm of SOE during the second world war and some scenes in this film Les Anglais dans la Résistance with Jean-Louis Crémieux-Brilhac were shot at 1 Dorset Square (and it was in what is now our classroom 01 that he was handed his revolver and cyanide capsule). » Charles de Gaulle (from his speech in Algiers on 30th October 1943 for the 60th anniversary of the Alliance Française movement)
