Attending a Maker Space session will give you an informal and enjoyable introduction to Computer Aided Design and Digital Manufacturing. We use only open source design software, that you can download and use at home for free. We have 3D Printers, a CNC Router, a Laser-cutter, a digital embroidery machine, and a 3D scanner, and all of them are available for you to use. Calling all artists! We're proud to announce that we're opening up a brand-new artist retreat, and we want YOU to be there. Our Artist Retreat is a week-long retreat that gives you the chance to immerse yourself in the art of your choice, from beginner to advanced. We'll give you expert tuition in the arts and crafts of your choice, so you can spend your week focused on learning and exploring your creativity. At Gifted Crafts, we believe that everyone is an artist. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, we promise you'll find something new to learn at our retreat. You'll be immersed in an unforgettable week of activities and hands-on learning in the arts and crafts of your choice—from pewter casting to bookbinding, from enamelling to printing, from drawing to felting, from painting to yarn craft. We've even got some surprises up our sleeves for artists who love photography and sketching. And don't forget about foiling, engraving, batik…We think you get the idea.

Join artist Julie Galante for this in-person workshop, where we’ll take inspiration from the historic city of Edinburgh. Participants of all experience levels are welcome for this friendly, small-group experience.  We’ll start with some guided warm-up sketches before moving on to drawing exercises focused on composition, tone, and observation. By the end of the workshop you’ll feel more confident drawing your surroundings, no matter your previous drawing experience.  Please come dressed for the weather, ready to spend two hours outside. You may also want to bring along a folding stool or a rug to sit on while you draw (there will likely be benches available, but this is unpredictable).  Participants will also need to bring along some basic art supplies:  A sketchbook and/or some drawing paper and board (A4 or larger recommended) Various drawing pens and pencils Charcoal or graphite sticks An eraser Any other favourite art supplies that you may like to use I'll also have some supplies to hand for you to borrow or purchase (please let me know in advance if there's something in particular you need).
