Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) is widely acknowledged as the most effective martial art in the world. The Gracie family, from Rio De Janerio, Brazil, are considered the founding fathers of BJJ, having learnt a hybrid form of judo and traditional Ju Jitsu from a travelling Japanese prizefighter, Mitsuyo Maeda, in the early 1900s. The creator of Judo, Jigoro Kano had tasked Maeda with spreading his new sport around the world, and when Maeda left Brazil, the Gracies started their own academy, teaching their modified ‘Gracie’ (Brazilian) Jiu Jitsu. For the next 80 years the Gracie family modified and refined their art, holding public challenge matches to prove the effectiveness of their blend of jiu jitsu. Despite these very public, and often controversial, matches, the art remained largely unknown outside of Brazil. This changed in the 1990s. In 1993 the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was established. This competition pitted various styles of martial arts against each other. Royce Gracie, son of one of the founder of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, dominated the event, beating each of his much-larger and stronger opponents with ease. Royce’s performance in the UFC changed the martial arts world forever: his performance demonstrated that with the correct application of technique and leverage the weaker and smaller man could defeat any adversary. Since 1993 there has been an explosion in the growth of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, with clubs in Los Angeles to Australia, China to Russia. BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU IN BELFAST Closer to home, in the late 1990s Mauricio Gomes, a representative of Gracie Barra and an extended member of the Gracie family, arrived in the British Isles and set up BJJ clubs in London, Birmingham, and Belfast. Gracie Barra Northern Ireland was constituted, and since then the club has grown from strength to strength. Maintaining close ties with its sister clubs across Britain and Ireland, the club has hosted some of the most highly regarded practitioners in history of the art, including Mauricio’s son Roger Gracie (the most successful BJJ competitor of all time), as well as four-time world champion Braulio Estima (IBJJF Hall of Famer and ADCC champion) and his brother Victor Estima (NoGi world champion). In 2011, and with Maurico’s blessing, Braulio Estima awarded Graham Keys his black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He was the first person in Northern Ireland, and the third in Ireland, to attain this rank. Under Graham’s tutelage, Gracie Barra Belfast has become Northern Ireland’s most successful Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academies, having produced Irish, British, European and World champions. Recently, and in recognition of the Graham’s expertise, Ulster Rugby approached the club to help with their training and preparation for their up-coming 2014 season. Today, Gracie Barra Northern Ireland is the only official Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu Jitsu club in Northern Ireland, and the largest and most successful BJJ club in Belfast. Everyone is welcome to come and train, at our classes held in a number of locations across Belfast. The club can trace its lineage directly back to the founders of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Perfect Skin Solutions was founded by Dr. Dev Patel, our medical director, who was surprised by the lack of medical training some providers have, due to the limited regulations currently in place for treatments such as Botox® and Dermal Fillers. He has over 20 years of experience working in various specialities, during which he developed a particular interest in dermatology and minor/aesthetic surgery. Perfect Skin Solutions was born out of this interest, initially, only providing non-surgical solutions to prevent and treat the signs of ageing. With an ever-growing client base and remit of services, we made the inevitable move to our own clinic premises in Southsea, in June 2014. This allowed our Skin Clinic to merge with the highly successful Podiatry/Chiropody Service run by Nishal Patel. We strive to remain up-to-date with the latest advances in our fields and aim to reflect this in the treatment options we provide, whilst considering cost-effectiveness and clinical efficacy. Traveling to the Clinic By Rail: The nearest station is Fratton (on London Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour route). After exiting the train, walk up the set of steps towards the front of the train. At top of the steps, turn RIGHT for taxis/Uber or turn LEFT if walking to the clinic (15-minute walk). By Car: There are variable parking restrictions around the clinic. However, there is currently free and unlimited parking in the nearby side roads till 1630 or 1730 (roads leading off Winter Rd opposite the clinic). If you are likely to be in clinic after that time, please use either the 1 hour (free) zone immediately in front of the clinic or for longer stays, the 3 hour (free) zone 2 parades north of the clinic (outside Q Build and David Antony). Unfortunately, we cannot take responsibility for any parking fines and ask that you read any parking signs carefully to avoid receiving a parking ticket. Accommodation: There are numerous good value hotels within walking distance or short taxi ride. Please come along and join me at my art workshops in acrylics, linocut printing and soft pastels in the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District.  Whether you are on holiday or living nearby, a novice or experienced - everyone is welcome.  I am a professional artist and was a heat semi-finalist in Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year competition 2022 I have exhibited with the Royal Society of British Artists and Royal Society of Marine Artist Mall Galleries, London.Wednesday workshops are located at my home studio. You have a choice of working in acrylics and/or mixed media, soft pastels or linocut printing.  Subjects include: landscapes, still life, abstract, portraits, etc.The workshops are fun, relaxing and informative.I also hold a Saturday Art Workshops advertised here.  I have a relaxed and informative approach to working with acrylics and mixed media and other techniques. I was a professional muralist for 11 years, specialising in trompe l'oeil (trick of the eye) techniques. Although photo realism painting in acrylics was essential in creating a painting illusion, I have also worked more recently with impasto and mixed media using acrylics which is an enjoyable and liberating experience.  I was a former member of the Association of Professional Muralists and have appeared on television and radio.I have a friendly dog called Phoebe! WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE PRICE? Lunch and refreshments, use of easels, brushes, aprons, etc.  if you would also like the use of all surfaces, paints, inks etc it is a. additional £10 payable on the day.

Southampton Coalporters A.R.C. was founded in 1875 and as such is the oldest and most established rowing club within the city of Southampton. The club has been successfully competing every year since its foundation. Coalporters itself takes its name from the rowers who transported coal to visiting ships on the River Itchen. These workers formed the club in which they could participate using their skills in competition against anyone else who would race against them. In 1884 the club scratched together a crew of 18 to race and beat a previously undefeated racing crew of 14 from the visiting American Navy. The race was set over a five mile course for stakes of sixty dollars . The crew imbalance was more than compensated for by the fact that the Americans could race their own specially designed racing boat, whilst Coalporters had to race in a disused service cutter from the condemned stores in Portsmouth Dockyard. The Americans asked for a rematch for higher stakes for which Coalporters took up the challenge and again went on to win. Soon after Coalporters were challenged by the "Portsmouth Shovelers" which laid the foundations for the more conventional river and coastal rowing competitions of today. The club has progressively grown in stature over the years to become a well renowned and respected club throughout the rowing circuit both locally and nationally. We have been on our present site beside Northam Bridge for over 40 years. The latest addition to the club was completed in 2005, extending the building further towards the water to increase the size of the training / gym area and also extending the back of the club to incorporate a club / committee room. The refurbishment also included the rebuilding of the changing rooms and the installation of new racking in the boat house. In 2019 Coalporters embarked on a new era to develop the club for the future. New storage and club refurbishment is now being planned, the first phase starts with conversion of the Northam Arch project. This will provide more boat storage space for members and our rowing crews.

Since 2015, I have been working on emphasizing the beauty of my guests. Previously, I worked in the world of sales and marketing. But I always wanted a little more. What really? To have a brand that is only mine. Which, if anyone utters it anywhere, should be linked to me and the maximum professionalism should also play a role in the background of this. Lashes by Niki was born in September 2015. In the beginning, I made the classic 1D eyelash sets for my guests, but I quickly had to realize that the guests wanted something new and, of course, thicker and thicker eyelashes. Not sparing time and energy, I constantly trained myself so that when my guests look in the mirror, they get exactly what or a little more than they dreamed of. In January 2016, I started my first eyelash builder competition. Here I managed to achieve third place nationally. It quickly became clear to me that the perfect harmony of beautiful eyelashes is best crowned by beautifully arched eyebrows, so it didn't take long to get my first makeup tattoo certificate. After that, I was able to make my guests even more beautiful and the name PMU was included in my logo and brand name. Over time, more people have contacted me saying that they want to learn the technique that I use in both eyelash construction and make-up tattooing. That's when I became an instructor in my profession. In the fall of 2017, I became a beautician by adding eyelashes and make-up tattooing. But my main profile was still eyelash, eyebrow shaping and tattooing, as well as running the webshop. At the beginning of 2019, the name Lashey by Niki was merged, and then the now trademarked LbN Hungary™ was formed, which raised my brand to a much more professional level. The courses were supplemented by fantastic specialists and instructors, my products undergo continuous development and transformation, and we managed to develop into an innovative brand that represents a worthy place in the professional market of Hungary and the surrounding countries. I always said that after I put my technique in the hands of my students, they need to be able to improve their knowledge with products that are perfect for me as well. That's when I started testing products and tools. I work for many months with a product that I consider to be good, but only the best products of the given category could be included in the product portfolio of my online store. My goal is continuous development and improvement, with which I can make the work of myself and others better and even better. Thank you for being here on my page and entering my little world. Nicholas was born in 1974 in Kent, and was educated at Chatham House Grammar School Nick Downs - Director, North Downs Music Studio Nick Downs – Director, North Downs Music Studio for Boys in Ramsgate. By the time he left school, he was proficient in playing bassoon, recorder, piano, viola, drums and percussion, having played for the Kent Youth Wind Orchestra & Kent County Youth Orchestra on bassoon & contrabassoon, touring with the former in 1990 to Singapore. At Trinity College of Music, he studied bassoon with Stephen Maw and piano with Philip Coleman, leading to a GTCL qualification at 2:1 classification. He continued at Trinity for a further year, on the Postgraduate Performance course, concentrating on the bassoon. After leaving college, Nicholas began working as a musician with Kent County Youth Service, based at 3D Studios in Northfleet, where he worked with young people in musical fields, including organising & running a Battle of the Bands competition, junk orchestra, monthly discos, & setting up an in-centre radio station. He also instigated & tutored on the “East Meets West” music project in partnership with Ranjit Shokar of Kent Music School, aimed at juxtaposing the cultural differences of western wind instruments with eastern percussion.

Kevin Hodgson has worked in the football industry as an Academy professional UEFA A licensed coach for over 15 years. I am now looking to bring my considerable experience of planning and organising tours, competing in tournaments, participating in training camps and managing tours across UK, European & UAE destinations. I therefore bring my expertise in managing tours and creating football tour packages together with my first-hand knowledge of all the destinations, training facilities and arranging appropriate fixtures. I have come to recognise and understand the importance of bringing together all the details and logistics for every trip. Regional Sports International football tournaments offer players, teams and managers of all standards the opportunity to train and play against some of Europe’s top professional clubs, training in purpose built football centres with excellent on-site facilities and accommodation. We believe that a football tour should be a unique experience and is an integral part of a developing players and team’s performance through the social and sporting experiences of the tour.

Cambridge Gymnastics Academy CIC is a non-profit organisation, which was founded in May 2012. The company Director Kayleigh Plaza, had a vision to provide affordable gymnastics for all, no matter age, gender, income or ability/disability. The club has since evolved and with an incredibly dedicated staff team, together fundraised, saved and received grants from both the Council and Sport England totalling £250,000. In May 2016, CGA opened its doors to a dedicated facility at North Cambridge Academy. CGA prides itself on being a hub for the community. Sessions are available from 6 week old babies to adult, from recreational to elite, with the lowest priced classes in the area and we even offer a 10% discount for people on means tested benefits. After our pre-school classes, we offer free refreshments so families can build relationships with others. We offer classes for minority groups such as women’s only, over 50’s and specially designed disability sessions. We are an inclusive club, so in the evenings children with disabilities join in with our normal recreational sessions. We deliver curriculum support to the NCA students and run a youth night on a Friday evening to provide local young people with a safe environment. In 2017 our success & hard work was recognised by British Gymnastics and we were selected as 1 of 3 clubs in the whole of the UK to be shortlisted for the award ‘British Gymnastics Club of the Year’. Following this success CGA were also awarded the 2017 winners of the ‘Living Sports Community Club of the Year’ fighting off strong competition from sports clubs across Cambridgeshire. Both huge achievements for the club. The club is a registered member of both British Gymnastics and Eastern Counties Gymnastics Association and has a number of fully qualified coaches & judges up to National Level who are DBS checked, safeguard & first aid qualified.
