I am a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at the School of Computer Science and Informatics at Cardiff University, working on Human-Computer Interaction and Human-Robot Interaction as part of the Human-Centred Computing Research Group and member of the new Centre for Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Human-Machine Systems (IROHMS). Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Horizon Digital Economy Research Institute, University of Nottingham, I worked in the area of Human-Robot Interaction and Human-Computer Interaction. Also, I was part of the EPSRC project "Autonomous Internet of Things", at the Mixed Reality Lab, University of Nottingham. My research focuses on human-robot collaboration, human-computer interaction, Internet of Things (IoT), and a socially responsible approach for designing technology. I am particularly interested in understanding the impact of technology through a user-centred research focus in different contexts, i.e healthcare, domestic environments, factory domains, and the global south. My background is in Computer Science, I received my Ph.D. at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, working at the HumaLab research group, during that time I explored: The impact of novel interfaces to support the self-report of emotions of informal caregivers/unpaid carers. How digital skills affect preferences of interfaces: Tangibles, Mobiles, and Ambient. Technology and social network use in complex contexts, i.e mothers of children with chronic illness, informal caregiver/unpaid carers of dependent elderlies, and isolated caregivers.

The Ethical Education Enterprise CIC was established to provide high quality and meaningful training to people in the local communities of the Greater Manchester area. Here at Ethical Education, we pride ourselves on creating a learning environment that offers each student an individual pathway. Working with local organisations, we support staff to develop their skills through accredited qualifications and bespoke training which, in turn, enhances local sustainability. We are currently working with young people aged 14yrs + to provide additional support alongside school, focusing on their individual attributes and interests. We also work with adults who are looking to progress in work or with barriers to work. Experience has shown us that, in reality, most people simply want meaningful work in their lives and equally meaningful social relations that come as part of being included in the wider working world. We believe that an intrinsic, if not critical part of helping people to achieve their aims is to develop productive relationships with all like-minded organisations such as third sector partners, education providers, support organisations, social housing providers and employers. We therefore can develop positive transitional pathways to ensure our learners are trained to a level which enables them to confidently progress or enter into productive, meaningful and sustainable employment. Fast Progress Tuition (FPT) is a specialist unregistered Alternative Provision for children who suffer from Emotionally-Based School Absence (EBSA). We build confidence, self-esteem and resilience in a controlled educational setting meaning that secondary complications of EBSA are prevented: education is not compromised and our students are able to take huge steps forward in both social and academic environments. Every child who attends FPT has a different academic pathway and social goals, all of which are developed in parallel with each other, resulting in a child who is active, confident and feels like they can achieve in different environments. FPT are on the Alternative Provision Directory for both Essex County Council and Southend Council.
