WE TEACH. Since January 2014, ReadAble has been running weekly reading and language arts classes for children ages 2 to 15 in a neighbourhood in the Chin Swee area. We started out teaching in children’s homes, but have grown to occupy classrooms in the Residents’ Committee Centre. We teach a phonics-based curriculum to our earliest readers and deliver a programme which complements the primary school syllabus for those who have mastered the basics of reading. We use drama, movement and play to draw out a love for reading, build self-confidence, and encourage creativity. WE BUILD. ReadAble has built a community library of over a thousand books for our kids to freely access books at every reading level throughout the week. We also organise educational excursions to plays and museums, as well as connect kids’ families with community resources, such as school supply donations and workshops by professional educators. Through our BookDrop project, we set up conducive study spaces and mini-libraries in kids’ homes. WE MENTOR. Apart from our classes every Saturday, some volunteers run one-on-one classes with children in their homes across the week forming deep relationships with families. We also started a class teaching the predominantly migrant mothers of our students, functional English to navigate life in Singapore. EVERY CHILD LOVED. We believe that children thrive in love. We are committed to forming lasting relationships with them as teachers and mentors. Each child’s progress is closely monitored and classes are tailored to meet their learning styles. We recognise that our children weather challenges such as parental incarceration or family violence, and we strive to support them. EVERY FAMILY PARTNERED. Family support is crucial to a child’s success. We work alongside families to reinforce children's learning at home. We seek to understand our children’s home life and we engage parents with routine updates on their children’s progress. EVERY VOLUNTEER EMPOWERED. ReadAble is entirely volunteer-led and run, and we are serious about equipping our people. We run regular training sessions on topics from phonics to classroom management and how toxic stress affects child development. We constantly refine our methods based on research and best practices. EVERYONE A COMMUNITY. We seek to build an inclusive community that encourages children's diverse aspirations and engages everyone with empathy. We have a flat volunteer structure led by our Co-founders and Core Team who form friendships with children and their families. Together, we work to eradicate social inequality.

Lisa Sayers is a CNHC and BANT registered BSc nutritional therapist, nutrigenetics counsellor, ACSM certified exercise physiologist/health fitness specialist, sports massage therapist, Stott Pilates instructor, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) practitioner, CHEK practitioner, former qualified general nurse and venepuncturist working as a personal trainer and nutritional therapist in Henley-on-Thames, Reading, Marlow (Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire). Lisa qualified as a nurse in 1988, began working in the fitness and health industry in 2003 and has been running her own successful practice since 2005. She regularly teaches in a number of locations including Drummond physiotherapy clinic and Drummond Education, and has published several articles for them and other local health related practices. Lisa now operates from her own air conditioned and well equipped studio and consulting room in Henley-on-Thames where there is private parking available. Lisa’s unique skill sets allow her to take a multidisciplinary and holistic approach to help clients with all types of needs move towards their health and fitness goals. Clients vary from teenagers to the elderly, and range from the able bodied seeking to improve an aspect of their well-being to those suffering from disease, metabolic disorders or in recovery from injury or surgery. Here Lisa is able to offer help drawing upon a range of specialisms including biomechanical analysis, strength training, dietary analysis and programming, nutri-genetic counselling (which enables her to understand an individual genetic strengths and weaknesses-which may impact on health and performance), disease and weight management, back pain management, and post-rehabilitation. Lisa passionately believes that the structure of the body and its overall performance is dependent on genetic make-up and its response to our internal and external environment (this includes exposure to diet, stress, medications, pollutants, toxins and exercise). Therefore by modifying diet, environment and providing 'sensitive' exercise programming a person may be helped to reduce their risk of disease expression, optimise performance and increase health and vitality. Lisa works closely with consultants, surgeons, physiotherapists and complimentary therapists, and takes an evidence based medicine approach to continually improving her own professional practice so that she can help her clients make intelligent decisions relating to their health and fitness goals. Outside of her practice, Lisa is a mum with three grown up daughters and enjoys a number of activities including marathon running and cooking. Lisa enjoys supporting those in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction at Yeldall Manor, Towards Recovery and local community support groups. Lisa is committed to the pursuit of knowledge and continual improvement. The Pony Club is an international voluntary youth organisation for young people interested in ponies and riding. Founded in England in 1929, and granted independent charitable status on 1st January 1997, there are around 330 Branches and 400 Centres in the UK alone. The Pony Club has been the starting point for a large majority of equestrian team members and medal winners. The Pony Club is represented in no less than 27 countries with a worldwide membership exceeding 110,000 making it the largest association of young riders in the world. Objectives The objectives of The Pony Club are: to encourage young people to ride and to learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with horses and riding to give instruction in riding and horsemastership and to educate Members to look after and to take proper care of their animal to promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty to create strength of character and self-discipline Membership Membership is open at any young person under the age of 25. Structure The Pony Club Office is based at Lowlands Equestrian Centre, Warwickshire from where The Pony Club is managed by a permanent staff responsible to The Board of Trustees and the Management Committee. Incorporated as a Company Limited by Guarantee Registered Company Number: 3072475 Registered Charity Number: 1050146 Areas The Pony Club is split into 19 Areas, with a number of Branches and Centres in each, across the country. Each Area has an Area Representative who will represent their Branches and Centres at Area Representatives meetings. Branches Each Branch covers a geographical area and is organised using the purposes and the rules of The Pony Club. Every Branch is administered by a voluntary District Commissioner helped by a Committee made up of voluntary members. Pony Club Branch Membership is open to anyone under 25 years of age. Members should have access to a horse or pony, by ownership or loan, and have the means to transport the horse or pony to and from rallies and events. Centres In 1998, the Centre Membership scheme was launched for those, without their own pony who ride at riding schools, to become Members and take part in all that The Pony Club has to offer. There are currently around 400 Pony Club Centres spread across the UK. Activities at the Centre are run by the Proprietor and their Coaches. New Pony Club Centre Membership is open to anyone under 25 years of age who does not own a pony. Members pay an annual subscription and receive instruction at a Pony Club linked Centre, this subscription constitutes Membership of the Club and includes third party insurance. Since January 2016, Centre Plus Membership is also available for young riders with their own pony who ride at a Pony Club Linked Centre.

Sounds Together is a complete, systematic, synthetic phonics programme for use in Reception and KS1. The Programme is the 'step-up' from 'Letters and Sounds'. It provides a fresh, thorough and systematic approach to teaching and learning phonics that builds on previous professional experience and understanding, without requiring teachers to 'unlearn' the positive principles and methods of 'Letters and Sounds'. Sounds Together has its roots in 'Letters and Sounds', but has been extensively developed and creatively elaborated in the light of all the feedback and learning from the thousands of schools that used 'Letters and Sounds' in the national 'Communication, Language and Literacy Development Programme' (CLLD). Sounds Together is the only fully DFE approved phonics programme to draw on this knowledge base. Sounds Together, with its strength of structure, guidance and support, makes phonics teaching and learning consistent, engaging and effective from its beginning in YR, right through to KS1. Some key features Sounds Together sets out the complete sequence of all the phonic knowledge and skills that need to be taught to meet the requirements of the new National Curriculum. It provides strong classroom support for teachers because it includes fully detailed planning for each session of the Programme in Reception and KS1. The planning has been carefully designed to ensure that previous learning is progressive and cumulative and is repeatedly revisited and reinforced. The planning is completely integrated with a full suite of on-screen resources for the interactive whiteboard (Smart Boards only). It's easy to use because the planning fully describes each step of the teaching sequence for each day's phonics session. It's engaging for children because the teaching resources for each session include vivid interactive whiteboard materials that will capture children's attention and keep it focused on what they need to learn. It minimises the amount of time needed to prepare for each phonics session, because all the IWB materials needed are immediately ready for use for every single daily phonics session. The Programme includes an electronic library of decodable captions, sentences and other short texts that can be printed out as handy-sized reading cards. The Programme includes the materials children need to practise and apply their phonic knowledge and skills. There is also a wealth of extra IWB resources that can be used for additional practice, including materials for individual or group work. All the Sounds Together materials can be used with a complete class or smaller groups. The Programme is provided on disc, with an individual school licence that allows the school to make unlimited lifetime use of the materials, provided only that none of those materials are not shared, copied or passed on to a third party.

We bring a joint experience and insight from our years of practicing, teaching and studying in the UK and internationally, shaped by our way of living in unity with nature. My aim is to share with you learnings from my continuously evolving personal practice. Work and life took a very fast pace that increased as the years unrolled, especially since I have been working in London with a large professional services firm for over 12 years now. I was very lucky though to recognise my resilient and reflective nature from an early stage and rather than trying to blend in to be more like others around me, I took interest in exploring passions that were deeply rooted in me and came from beyond my background and education. Following an accidental encounter with yoga, I soon realised that I had been practicing meditation and visualisation techniques as a teenager without knowing what those were. I had also always been passionate about self healing and natural remedies and collected articles as a kid from the natural health section of local newspapers. I still keep the habit. Nowadays I research, apply and build on bits of wisdom from different sources as I continue my development journey which expanded to include plant-based cooking and essential oils. I learned how so many things interconnect and how we are all on the same kind of journey of discovery, but always our path is very unique to us. Building on my regular practice of yoga for over a decade, the teacher training course at Nada Yoga School Rishikesh in 2017 and other shorter trainings I completed since then, the classes that I teach focus always on breath and connecting the mind with the body through it. The benefits you will experience from them will be very specific to you. In my case, I have always seen real benefits only with consistent practice over long periods of time, whatever frequency I take, be it 10-15 minutes 2-3 times a week or longer sessions. A regular practice brought me clarity of thought, structure in my emotions and actions, increased insight and ability to find solutions or remembering things which I thought I never would recall (including work related!). I experienced reduced inflammation in my body and reduced pain from tensed or trapped muscles I used to often get over the years. I felt increased energy and joy of life and was able to navigate with more ease through challenging periods of time. I am also continuously humbled by the diversity of positive results my private or group sessions bring to those I share them with. Especially in supporting colleagues and others who experience a high pressure environment or who are looking to start, refresh or deepen their practice.
