I would like to extend a very warm welcome to the Cox Green School website. It gives me great pleasure to introduce myself as the new Headteacher of Cox Green School from 1st January 2022. I have been part of the Senior Leadership Team at Cox Green School since 2018 and I am delighted to have been appointed to lead the school forward, working in partnership with parents and carers. As Headteacher, I will make it my duty to support our students and provide them with opportunities so that they can achieve the highest academic standards and develop their unique talents to the full. It is my belief that our students should be kind, respectful and aim for excellence in all that they do. This for me, characterises the “Cox Green Way”. The education we provide will be in line with these values and will develop your child’s knowledge, understanding and skill set so that they can become highly qualified, responsible citizens, able to participate fully in all parts of the community. My passion has always been to enable every student to fulfil their ambition and find a pathway that motivates and challenges them. We will set high standards in every area of school life so all students have the opportunity to shine and enjoy their time with us. My goal is for Cox Green School to be a community which supports every pupil in ways that are suitable and individual to them; a school where the pupils’ and staff, learning and wellbeing are at the heart of all we do. We are your voice. Join your voice with others and effect change. Family Voice Surrey champions the needs and rights of SEND families in Surrey: families with children or young adults up to the age of 25 who have special educational needs, chronic illnesses, including mental health conditions, or disabilities. Family Voice Surrey was set up in 2010 and became a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) in 2017. We are always pleased to hear from new members who would like to be more involved. Check out our 'Get Involved' tab for more information. The role of Parent Carer Forums is recognised in the Children and Families Act 2014, providing a platform for us in Surrey as the official voice of parent carers of children and young people with additional needs. We gather and represent the parent carer views in meetings concerning implementation of SEND legislation and planning and delivery of SEND services, working with representatives from the local authority, local schools, and health. We also build strong relationships with other Surrey-based organisations working in different ways to support children and young people with additional needs.

WELLBEING IN THE WOODS Support groups and projects for adult Mental Health. Join us in the woods and experience the benefits of time spent connecting with Nature. Elements of Forest Bathing and Forest School for adults combine with being part of a small community to support wellbeing. Now includes Woodcraft for Wellbeing, a 6 week course for adults experiencing mild to moderate mental ill-health. Designed by a multi-disciplinary team of Therapists, Clinical Psychologists and Wellbeing Practitioners, this course is delivered under licence by a Therapeutic Forest CIC Approved Practitioner who has received additional training and on-going support. We welcome referrals from Social Prescribers and community support groups as well as self referrals. Forest Therapy (also known as Forest Bathing or Shinrin Yoku) is a gentle sensory process that brings healing through connection to the Forest/Nature and has been scientifically proven to enhance physical and emotional well-being, reduce stress, support the immune system and restore focus. Therapeutic Forest School for children and young people with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, Looked after Children and Young Carers. The focus is on stress reduction and resilience building through playful connection with Nature and each other.

We are Life Education East Midlands and we were formed on the 1st April 2022 following the amalgamation of Life Education Nottinghamshire and Life Education Northamptonshire. From the 1st August 2022 Life Education East Midlands were delighted to be joined by Life Education Leicestershire. We are a specialist charity provider of high quality health, well-being and drug prevention education working with primary schools across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Bedford, Central Bedfordshire, Milton Keynes, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and Rutland. Our aim is to equip young people with the knowledge, skills and confidence to make choices that will help them to live healthier, happier lives. We are a delivery partner of Coram life Education, the UK’s leading health and drug education organisation. Bringing health and well-being to life, our regularly updated programmes, keeping in line with demand and trends, have been created by child development experts to be stimuli-rich and interactive. This is achieved through puppetry, role play, and film clips to capture children’s imaginations and develop critical thinking and risk management skills. Nottinghamshire also works alongside Nottingham City Council and Inspire Learning to deliver courses to parents and carers.
