AR Technology makes usual things come to life by adding computer-generated sensory input including audio and video simulation. In the context of AR sandbox (iSandBOX) augmented reality is represented by 3D textures such as rivers, oceans, erupting volcanoes, grass, snow with luscious music and sounds of nature. iSandBOX construction consists of a box filled with regular beach sand, a depth sensor and a projector on the top that produces interactive images onto the sand. By moving and building the sand, user can create erupting volcanoes, rivers, oceans, mountains.

The inspiration for Memorial 2007 came from a school girl of African heritage who, after a visit to the Tower of London, asked her teacher "where is our history?" The answer is that in Britain, it is not in public view. More than 200 years after the passing of the Abolition of the Slave Trade Act in 1807, there is not anything to commemorate the millions of unnamed Enslaved Africans who lost their lives, liberty, and identity through the slave trade which enriched the colonising powers of Europe and their estates in the Americas. We came together informally in 2002 as a volunteer group. We took the name Memorial 2007, looking ahead to the bicentenary of the passing of the Abolition of the Slave Trade Act. In 2007 we became a registered educational charity with the Memorial having a dual purpose, not only as a memorial but as an educational resource. Our aim is to provide access to VR (Virtual Reality) and AR (Augmented Reality) whereby individuals will be able to have an immersive educational experience, regardless of location.

The Loughborough Junction Action Group (LJAG) is a volunteer-led social action charity that works to improve the environment of Loughborough Junction and the lives of the people who live and work here. It is our mission to make Loughborough Junction a great place to live and work. It was formed in 2008 following the murder of a young man, Andrew Pratt, in Southwell Road. Local residents in the road and surrounding streets came together to do something positive for their neighbourhood which they felt had been neglected for too long. LJAG works to achieve its mission through its projects which focus on community events, skill-sharing, greening, children’s activities and place-making. LJAG works to build a strong civic society in Loughborough Junction and has a record of involving volunteers across our diverse neighbourhood. LJAG’s fundraising activities have brought over £600,000 into Loughborough Junction and we have been instrumental in attracting over £3 million of public investment into the area. Over 13 years LJAG has delivered art projects which have improved a pedestrian alleyway under a railway bridge; run two street photography projects; launched an augmented reality app linked to the history of World War One; run community events including four street parties; health events; a community festival; run cycle maintenance classes; craft workshops; a mapping project; installed street planters and run community planting days. We have worked with Lambeth council on the production of the Loughborough Junction Plan and on public realm improvements and we facilitate monthly meetings of the Loughborough Junction Neighbourhood Forum. LJAG runs successful projects: Loughborough Farm, The Platform Cafe, Grove Adventure Playground, Craft Workshops and an informal social prescribing project, Wish You Were Here. Loughborough Farm is a successful community food growing project, where volunteers come together on Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday to grow vegetables and to socialise. The Loughborough Farm also has a successful outreach programme on two council estates and each summer delivers tomato plants and herbs to residents of the Loughborough Estate to grow on their balconies. The Farm is also responsible for the orchard in Wyck Gardens.

The Bath Festival Orchestra is the future of classical music. We are committed to innovation in the area of enhanced live performance, harnessing the creative possibilities of augmented reality, virtual reality and hologram technology. We will experiment with and explore new scientific capabilities to advance musical dialogue in the streaming and broadcast arenas. Founded in 1959 by Yehudi Menuhin, the Bath Festival Orchestra has long been established as the beating heart and resident ensemble of The Bath Festival. Our reach is now international, having used the power of digital media and technologies to establish ambitious collaborative projects for worldwide audiences. Collaboration, access to music at every level, and cross-genre collaboration, are values of our Founder and remain interwoven into the orchestra’s identity and work. We relaunched during the Covid-19 pandemic, in a move indicative of our devotion to offering opportunities for all, and amplifying engagement in the arts. We are flinging open the doors to classical music, providing open access at every level. We are led by a dedication to seeing our audiences and musicians reflect the society we live in – to truly diversify the socio‐demographics of our industry. Our first engagement, following our relaunch, was an education project to give young people access to the best music training in schools. We are equally at home here as we are when connecting with audiences at live events, from those held at the recently refurbished Bath Abbey to those at the renowned Badminton House. We are looking forward to sharing our plans for 2021-22 in the coming months.
