We are Approved! We are a CITB Approved Training Organisation (ATO). This means we are recognised by CITB as well as the British construction industry as a training provider who can deliver good quality training that meets the industry approved standards. Publishing and Thesis ServicesWe’re really proud to say, The Book Hub Publishing Group is now the largest independent Publishing House in the scenic west of Ireland with Offices just outside Athenry town in County Galway and in Limerick. 2020 with the global pandemic seemed a good time to institute some change in direction in the life of the Book Hub Publishing Group which has been busy publishing authors since 2009. Very grateful to Niall, John and the crew for their work over the years, we really wanted to get a stronger sense of the company being led by women and promote the idea of female entrepreneurship in Ireland so we had a team meeting (Zoom as we were all in various states of lockdown) and agreed we needed a formal role of Head of Diversity, Inclusion and Equality – Dr. Mary Helen Hensley was perfect for the role with her life experiences and publication interests. We aim to review inclusion across the board in our projects. Our Northern Ireland Senior Script Reviewer, Anna Gray, was happy to maintain and build on her existing role and also move into ghostwriting. Dr. Phil Noone from Ocean Mindfulness, assumed Senior Irish Reviewer role and Susan McKenna took over as Director, Commissioning Editor and Author Rep. Since 2020, we’ve continued to grow and work with existing and new authors from as far afield as the United States, Canada, Switzerland and even Peru and, of course, we continue to work with Irish authors here in Ireland. We’ve also published several volumes of poetry and have more book projects from several genres in the pipeline. Being women in business is particularly challenging, but also deeply rewarding. We hope to continue to pave the way for diversity and inclusion in publishing and are committed to sparking creative talent. *We have been very fortunate to receive Arts funding for several of our books including ‘Eurydice 29’, ‘Midlandia’, ‘Going Back for all I’d on’ from the Arts Office, Westmeath County Council. Indeed, ‘Eurydice 29’ was also funded by the Department of Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht. ‘Bittern Cry’ was funded by Artl!nks and Waterford County Council. ‘Little Pocket of Love’ was funded by Humanli Social Impact Organisation.

“The best undergraduate department of art history in the country”: This is how New York Times art critic John Russell once described the Art History program at NYU. The Department was established to provide a rigorous and wide-ranging education in the many facets of the history and theory of art, a mission that its faculty continues to enthusiastically embrace. Students become familiar with global art from antiquity to the present. The Department offers courses in Ancient, Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Modern, Contemporary, East Asian, South Asian, Islamic, Latin American, African, Oceanic, Pre-Columbian, and Native American art, treating not only painting, sculpture, architecture, and photography but also graphic media, manuscript illumination, the decorative arts, and aspects of urban design. The Department is one of the few undergraduate programs in the country that also features extensive offerings in conservation and museology. The myriad museums, galleries, and local architectural sites make New York City the ideal place in which to study the visual arts on site, in the flesh. Beyond New York, art history courses are offered at the university’s various abroad sites, such as Berlin, Buenos Aires, Florence, London, Madrid, Paris, and Prague. The Department offers two undergraduate majors and minors, one in Art History and another in Urban Design and Architecture Studies (URDS). The specific course requirements are outlined in detail on the Department’s website. Since an education in the history of art can be enhanced by a firsthand understanding of its making, Art History majors also are allowed to minor in Studio Art through courses offered in the Steinhardt School. The Department publishes its own student journal (Ink & Image) and has an honors program, which culminates in the writing and oral defense of an honors thesis during the student’s senior year. Art History graduates have proven exceptionally successful in securing positions in museums, commercial galleries, auction houses, and nonprofit organizations. Those who go on to undertake graduate study typically pursue careers as curators, conservators, and academic art historians at the university and college level. Students majoring in URDS are well prepared for graduate study in architecture, urban planning, and historic preservation. Ettrick Forest Archers are a Longbow only club affiliated to the British Long Bow Society and members of Club Sport Ettrick and Lauderdale. We are a members only Longbow club but guests who are members of BLBS are welcome to shoot. We do come and try sessions and demonstrations through out the year and at many local events. Gift Vouchers for beginners training of four lessons are available from the secretary or by contacting the Chair. These are priced at £80 to cover instructors time and wear on club equipment. A brief initial taster session can be provided before committing to the beginners course Club bows and arrows are available for new members to hire for a modest fee until you can obtain your own equipment. These fees are £5 per session for use of a club bow plus £5 if using club arrows and bracers etc. These fees are to cover potential breakages and replacement of worn equipment. New members would be encouraged to obtain their own equipment once they have attained a reasonable level of ability and strength. The normal minimum starting age is Thirteen (may be relaxed to twelve for youngsters with previous archery experience) due to the physical nature of the longbow and the fact that it is a weapon. Club days are a Sunday from 11:00am unless there is a competition on (see events for info). We also meet on a Wednesday evening from 6pm during the summer and members can shoot at other times provided there is more than one. 2022 charges. Beginners Training 4 lessons @ £80. Act Training has been offering high quality, reasonably priced training courses to individuals and organisations since 1993. We offer a wide range of training courses: computer training courses at all levels; bookkeeping and accounting; text processing courses leading to OCR equivalent qualifications. Course durations vary from one day to several months, depending upon the depth of knowledge required. Training Courses For individuals we can arrange flexible training sessions during the day or in the evening, from as little as 2 hours a week to full-time.
