We have always been known for being a fun and approachable club. Currently we have around 40 members shooting all styles of bows. The club primarily consist of recurve and compound archers. There are still the odd few who shoot longbow, bare bow and more traditional styles. Some club members also practice other types of archery such as Clout, Flight and Field but unfortunately the club does not have the facilities to cater for these. Over the years the club has produced several top archers. Some of our juniors shot on the Scottish squad and team, representing Scotland all over Britain. We have Scottish record holders, British record holders, even a British Under 15 Junior Boy champion. The seniors have represented the club over the years with Scottish, British and even Olympic champions. Loreburn Archers certainly does have a good pedigree behind it and it is something we are extremely proud of. The club practises all year round. Our indoor season runs from September through to March. We currently shoot at St Joseph’s College Sports Hall. The outdoor season runs from March to September. Through the summer we practise outdoors at the Crichton Playing Field, when it is not raining or too windy to shoot. Directions can be found on our contact page. If you are thinking about taking up the sport, we run a beginners’ course once a year. Completing the beginners’ course is the only way for a novice to join the club. However if you have been a full shooting member of a club in the past, please get in touch with us to inquire about joining. Archery is a sport that is open, to all irrespective of ability. We encourage anyone and everyone to come along and have a shot, the club’s minimum age limit is set at 12 years old. Each November the clubs runs an open indoor competition attracting up to 80 archers from all over Britain. Loreburn Archers also run a number of Come and Try sessions at local Gala days during the summer season which introduces archery to a wider audience as well as raising funds for the club.

Principal Elise Packard L.I.D.T.A launched her dance school, EliseMay Danceworks in June 2015. Since then, students have been able to perform in Shows, Presentations and Festivals as well as take their IDTA dance exams. In the Summer of 2018, EliseMay Danceworks rebranded to take on a new identity that captured exactly what dancing is to its students, and so Dreamers Dance Academy was born. The dance school, which was located in Hockley Heath, went from strength to strength during it’s first 4 years of business, however fast forward to June 2019 and Elise was thrilled to be given the opportunity to become the new Principal of the dance school which she had trained at herself for 18 years. This resulted in the successful merge of both her childhood dance school and the dance school she had built herself to create one big dance family of over 100 dancers! Consequently, Elise relocated the dance school to Olton, Solihull where DDA is extremely proud to offer all classes from its very own fully equipped dance studio.

On completion of the training, five 14ft boats sailed 6 miles to Innisbiggle for the Island Festival. The sailing week has continued to the present and grown significantly. Last year approx 100 people took part and there was a fleet of 22 boats. The Club has had considerable success in obtaining training funding for commercial and leisure marine courses with Leader and MFG providing the funds. A grant from Shell in October 2007 allowed us to increase our sailing fleet and get instructor training for powerboats and diesel engine maintenance. Further grants from Shell, the Bellacorick fund and the mayo sports partnership in 2010 allowed us to improve our sailing fleet (bought two laser Picos) and strengthen our safety boats (new 14ft dory and 6m rib). In June 2011, more special needs training was supported by the Mayo Sports Partnership and MFG granted €30, 600 towards the purchase of four new Hobie Cat Tatoos. In August 2008, the club was offered affiliation with The Irish Sailing Association, The ISA is responsible for most marine training in the country, their courses and certificates are recognized and approved by the Irish Government. Membership of The ISA was a major stepping-stone in the advancement of the club. Sailing starts in April of each year and the Club have regular Sailing sessions. They are scheduled to suits tides so could be on a weekday evening or weekend. Boats used are 420’s 470’s, lasers, toppers and five Hobie cats with a fully equipped and qualified safety team supervising the sailing. Anyone that wishes to have a go is very welcome to come along, even if you just want to have a look. There is always a few on the shore, getting boats ready, repairing them or looking after the BBQ. The Sailing will follow the ISA syllabus and arrangements have been made for an ISA Examiner to visit the Summer Sailing camp to assess Sailors and test them for the various sailing levels.

Marshall Milton Keynes Athletic Club is affiliated to England Athletics and Buckinghamshire Athletic Association . The Club competes in the South of England and is located in the South East Region. The Club exists to provide members with Track and Field, Road, X-Country and Fell-race competition, recreation, advice and assistance by qualified coaches, league competition for all age groups, (age 8 upwards) and, most important of all, good fun. We meet mostly at Stantonbury Stadium, Milton Keynes. The Fundamentals Group for 8-11 year-olds meets at Stantonbury Stadium (summer) and Radcliffe School in Wolverton (winter) on Monday evenings, with sessions between 5.30pm and 7.30pm.
