Our values are rooted firmly in the community, and we encourage links with local groups, businesses, and events. If you have seen our students perform or participate across the county, you will know that excellence is an expectation and this is clear in everything we do – be it through: academic or charitable endeavours, performance, or motor vehicle maintenance. Our staff know our students really well and strive at all times to meet their needs by keeping up to date with the latest educational research and continuing professional development. Ormiston Rivers is a dynamic and exciting learning environment with creative teaching and learning as the norm. We are the sole secondary school in Burnham on Crouch and the Dengie, and therefore uniquely placed to ensure that children achieve their potential. Our student exam results remain consistently above national averages and we continue to develop confident students who go out in the world with the security that only a strong education can provide. Our last Ofsted was in October 2016, with the school rated as Good in all aspects, the report can be found on the Ofsted section of our website. Make CIC sits firmly at the heart of the city’s creative and maker scene, where we’ve worked to support artists, makers and small businesses since 2012. Growing from the Baltic Triangle, Make encompasses creative space in Elevator Studios – where we run a hub for small businesses and makers to grow and develop projects and ideas – with 18,000 square feet of maker space on Regent Street, amidst the growing cultural cluster of Liverpool’s north docks. Make is the culmination of nine years of research, planning and development from directors Kirsten Little and Liam Kelly. We combine, arts, textiles, education and mentoring backgrounds with our own experiences of running a business, to plug gaps in resources and provide support we struggled to find when we were setting up our own business. At the North Docks, we’re housed slap bang in the middle of the city’s spiritual engine room, where things have been made and fixed for hundreds of years. You can also find the best coffee in the city region at Make North Docks, with Caffé Riccardo based in our atrium. Our newest and third venture in Wirral’s Grade I listed Hamilton Square, Make Hamilton, is a creative community hub and makerspace with affordable workspace, a café and a meeting space, and – at the heart of it all – a community garden. Our two venues are open to members, residents and the public. We’re a place to work from, run workshops, events, and exhibitions; we’re a space for workers, makers, students and tutors; for artist’s talks and creative events; celebrations, launches, meetings and exhibitions. We have a strong sense of our place and pride in our work here in the Liverpool City Region. We believe in self-sufficiency and sustainability, and aim to remove barriers to people joining the economy by making things themselves, or starting their own business and becoming self-sufficient. Make is a place to share skills, make, fix and create; to learn and to teach; to try and tweak. We combine high tech ideas with traditional crafts; experienced hands with new skills. I’m Emily, the founder of Giggling Panda Chinese School, we started our exciting journey of creating the best Chinese school in 2015. As the name suggest, Giggling Panda is a happy school, where our creative teachers give our pupils the best Chinese language education surrounded with endless fun. We strongly believe curiosity and fun are the best motivation for children to learn anything, our teachers are magicians, they take our pupils onto a journey full of fascinating stories and knowledge that excite them all the time. Our philosophy is to teach language in a completely different way. In our opinion, learning a new language shouldn’t be boring or dry as sawdust, instead, it should be colourful, dynamic, and full of excitement. Children are always intrigued by the interesting facts and knowledge, and using a different language in getting access to those knowledge is the ultimate goal we have in Giggling Panda. We live in a completely new world now, the old-style learning has a lot of limitations, and we want to remove those limitations, so the bright young minds can be better fed. We constantly ask ourselves to relentlessly focus on customer service, just like the children deserve the best education, our parents deserve the best customer service. We put a lot of energy on building a community where our parents not only able to send their children for the best education, but also feel being part of a big family where they can get a lot of additional information and support. We will continue to work with other education institutions to create a centre of excellence for creative skills, and this will always be written in our mission. We celebrate culture diversity, our children come from different social background, and everyone should be proud of their own culture, the soil we provide at Giggling Panda is not only for our pupils to show their individual talent but also to be the little ambassadors of their own community. We hold regular events to promote the rich culture diversity, entrepreneurship, individual talents etc. Giggling Panda will give you the warmest welcome, look after every child as its own, and take every parent on this exciting, happy journey.

The spirit of the Centre’s aims has remained unchanged for over 100 years: Swarthmore seeks to inspire lives through friendly learning within a commitment to equality of opportunity Swarthmore is a centre for lifelong learning, community projects and family learning sessions as well as the courses and activities. Our main aim is to encourage people who want to learn but might not feel comfortable in more formal educational institutions. We work on a friendly, human scale. Many volunteers currently support the Centre’s work, and we welcome their contributions of time and energy. The Centre was founded by members of the Quaker movement in 1909 with the aim of including and involving people in learning activities and making sure that people were treated with equality and respect. Two members of the Society of Friends remain on our democratically elected ‘Council’ of Trustees, made up of Centre members and representatives of community organisations with shared aims. Swarthmore is a not-for-profit registered charity, and a company limited by guarantee. Our Grade II Listed Building has a fascinating history and is made up of six four-story terraced houses with additional dance and art studios to the rear. We have specialist facilities for pottery, jewellery, stained glass and sculpture, and the atmosphere is intentionally homely and informal. We also work within the local community on negotiated projects, including arts and ‘Skills for Life’ programmes. Many groups and individuals make use of the Centre as a community resource, providing facilities for a wide variety of local groups. Swarthmore attracts a social mix of people who come to the Centre because of their shared interests in learning rather than their background. We offer room hire at competitive rates, and welcome the public to use our café facilities.
