Children Unite is a registered charity that promotes participatory approaches to working with exploited children. Since 2010 we have worked in over 15 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America with children's rights agencies and donors that are supporting exploited children and young people. Through consultancy : We work with NGOs and donors that support exploited children and young people. Our advice service builds organisations' capacity to integrate children's participation into organisational policy and structure, and develop programmes that are based on needs identified by children themselves. Our technical advice and consultancy includes programme evaluation and grant assessment, qualitative research and policy reviews as well as capacity building and training staff and children. Through our projects : We facilitate children's activism and advocacy in order to influence national and international policy and practice. We design and co-ordinate participatory research and projects that empower exploited children. We have successfully supported child domestic workers to campaign nationally and internationally; influencing the International Labour Organisation's Domestic Workers Convention and introducing local by-laws to protect children from exploitation. Looking for the perfect day out in Cheshire? Visit Anderton Boat Lift, a giant three-storey-high iron edifice on the banks of the River Weaver Navigation. Winner of experience of the year 2019, The Anderton Boat Lift has earned its nickname of Cathedral of the Canals for a very good reason. Not only does it still do the job it was designed to do of lifting boats and barges the 50 feet from the River Weaver Navigation to the Trent & Mersey Canal, but it does it with the most ingenious and endearing character of any structure on the canal system. The mighty Anderton Boat Lift is one of the 'Seven Wonders of the Waterways' and together with its visitor centre, coffee shop, play area and nearby Northwich Woodlands, it makes for a great day out.

My experience with yoga had been lightly scattered in-between other activities throughout my life, probably becoming more prominent in my early twenties and primarily used as a form of physical exercise. I was one of those people who left before Savasana because it gave my mind too much space and time to run free - in all honestly I found it relatively torturous and uncomfortable. At this point movement was for physical gain and mental distraction - which I’m sure many people can relate to. I had experienced issues with my mental health from a very young age and in 2015 was diagnosed with BPD. During that year I had two hospital admissions for issues relating to severe self harming and substance abuse. During my time as an inpatient we were offered yoga as a form of therapy, which I utilised but could not fully hold space for at the time, although the teacher gave me hope which was enough. Upon leaving I discovered the practice of Ashtanga with my wonderful teacher Mo Still based in Aberdeenshire. The structure, asana, pranayama and power filled me and I practiced daily. I don’t want to suggest that yoga can fix all problems, physical and mental, but what I will say is that having a practice to call my own and follow daily was crucial in my recovery.
