As you may have guessed my passion is Ceramics and especially the hand building techniques such as ‘coiling’ and ‘slab building’ which I than carve back at the leather dry clay stage. I am intrigued by the Raku firing technique although Stoneware firing is a also a strong process in the finishing technique of my work. I like to classify myself as a Ceramicist rather than a Potter as I tend to think of a potter as artist that competently uses the wheel to produce functional work. I always find it hard to describe my work as it varies so much and takes it insperation from so many areas and influiences and these change regularly, one thing for sure is that I have more ideas in my head than I’m ever going to be able to make. As well a exhibiting locally and nationally I also teach and run workshops for Raku Firing and handbuilding. As I build my own Raku kilns I can now offer this as a service, so if you are interested please get in contact. I have been lucky to make some great friends through ceramics along the way and have to thank them all for enriching my life and saving me from complete madness. I Fell In Love With Puppetry At Age 14 When I Was Chosen To Perform A Puppet Show To The Audience Members At My Local Church And I Must Admit I Had No Idea What I Was Doing. However, The Audience Loved It. I Took Classes With An Awesome Company Called One Way UK Where I Was Taught Key Skills And Foundations Of Puppetry. How Did You Come Up With Littlecrowns Storyhouse? I Studied Acting At Stella Adler Studio In New York City. Whilst In NYC, I Was Chosen To Work On Behalf Of The Student Outreach Team That Held Regular Workshops In Schools Around New York. This Experience Led Me To Start Making Puppets And Perform Traditional Folk Stories In Local Children’s Bookshops Around New York City. How Did You Become Passionate About Childcare? In Addition To Being An Actor, I’m A Full Time Nanny And Have Worked With Children From Birth To Primary. My Motto Is To Always Enhance The Child Experience Through Play! I Encourage Children To Express Their Own Creativity While Nurturing Appreciation Of Puppetry. A WONDERFUL HOUSE Having been born and brought up here I have been enormously privileged to have lived in such a wonderful house and to have so many memories of my childhood from climbing the ancient yew trees in the woods to running up the secret stairs and taking unsuspecting visitors by surprise and even washing up in the tearoom at the age of five. Our children, now, are enjoying that same experience. Over 900 years Traquair has witnessed extraordinary events in Scotland’s history and 27 monarchs have passed through its doors. In 1958, my grandfather opened a few rooms to the public for the first time (much to the fury of my grandmother) and Traquair has since welcomed over 1 million visitors. DEVOTION & GROWTH My parents devoted their lives to making Traquair the attraction it is today. My father discovered the 300 year old brewery and began brewing again in 1965. My mother set up a number of craft workshops in the grounds amongst many other initiatives. Since I have come back to live here in 1990 when my father died we have continued to grow and diversify our activities here. We offer a year round programme of events for all ages, a romantic wedding venue, accommodation in the house and hosting for corporate meeting and dinners.

New Ashgate Gallery, a non-profit making trust, cultivates the pursuit of excellence in a marketplace environment, with support to emerging artists, by exhibiting work and through professional development. We promote the creative process for all communities through workshops, talks and outreach work. We provide an unparalleled resource in Farnham, Surrey and beyond. History In doing all this we have a direct line of continuity with our beginnings. Elizabeth Naydler, who founded the Gallery in 1959, had aspirations to bring quality art to Farnham, with the first provincial exhibitions of nationally and internationally known sculptors and artists such as Henry Moore, Anthony Caro, Elizabeth Frink, Barbara Hepworth, Picasso, Sandra Blow, Mary Fedden, Peter Blake, whilst at the same nurturing local talent and helping the careers of the next generation of artists and crafts people through exhibitions, sale of work and prizes and scholarships. The Gallery moved into Waggon Yard in 1966 - in 2016 the Trust celebrated its 50th anniversary in the 17th century Grade II building in in the centre of the Farnham Craft Town. During the years, the gallery has administered the profits from craft and art sales to create prizes and scholarships, and for the purchase of artworks for local and national museums. It was one of the first provincial galleries to show artists with an international reputation as well as supporting local talent.

Welcoming you back safely to in person Wimbledon Guild Counselling Training courses For our live, in-person events, we take every precaution to keep you safe at our venue: • In Drake House in the main hall, we have ventilation which brings in clean air so the air in the room is not recirculated. • Drake House is cleaned everyday with high grade cleaning products, also all surfaces are wiped down in between sessions. • All chairs are steam cleaned on a regular basis. • We have hand sanitising stations in all the walkways and main rooms, and hand washing facilities in the toilets and kitchen. • While there is no longer a legal requirement to wear a face mask, we suggest that clients still do so if they are happy to.

Youth Engagement Solutions Ltd (YES) is a charity based in North West London, formed in the summer of 2015, after previously existing as a project within a parent charity. We work from our office in Wembley, but deliver across NW London and beyond. Our Aims YES aims to improve the lives of young people aged 10-30 , from all backgrounds, across the capital. We do this through: Employment Enterprise Education Mentoring Health & wellbeing for individuals and families Physical activities and football / football coaching Enrichment programmes and intervention Highly rated sports and educational workshops What Makes YES We work on the ground with every customer to watch them thrive, grow and cheer them on! Our Objectives To improve social mobility and community cohesion among 10-30 year old Londoners from disadvantaged backgrounds, by: Increasing youth access to employment through support, training and education – Over 260 jobs secured since 2016. Promoting and supporting physical & mental health and wellbeing of young people. Reducing offending, re-offending and antisocial behaviour – Over 400 young people aged between 4-17 have been involved in our prevention youth projects. Providing opportunities for young people to positively affect their surrounding environment through work experience, projects and education. Challenging young people’s attitudes and the stigma attached to accepting help. Developing Cricklewood Wanderers Football Club through the English Football League System or “Football Pyramid”.

I’m an author/educator/artist, specialised in Islamic architecture and geometric design. I have been active in Islamic geometric design for over 25 years and am passionate about the creative and educational opportunities this design tradition offers to a wide range of audiences. My first book Islamic Geometric Patterns has taught thousands of readers around the world how to draw patterns in the same way craftsmen have done for centuries. I have an MA degree in the History of Islamic art and architecture from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London, and did one year at the Prince’s School of Traditional Arts. I give workshops and lectures around the world and am involved as a consultant in various educational and design projects in the Middle East and elsewhere. During the pandemic, I opened a shop (www.brougs.shop) in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire with my wife. We sell homeware & gifts from around the world. During the pandemic I also wrote a new book for my publisher Thames & Hudson. It’s titled: Islamic Architecture: A World History. Out in April 2023
