Through an official crowdfunding campaign, we are trying to raise £10,000 so we can install solar panels. This will reduce our carbon footprint and fuel costs – so we can focus on training lifeguards and beach safety. Did you know our volunteers provided 500+ hours of beach and water safety cover in 2022,Crowdfunding this project builds wider community support for the club and provides us the opportunity to access further match funds to the project. We have been in discussion with Cornwall Council who are looking to support this project as part of their work supporting communities to reach net zero by 2030, and installing renewable energy in the county. In the long term, all these measures will help reduce our energy costs and improve the operation of the clubhouse, meaning we can focus more of our efforts on future activities for the community – supporting health and wellbeing, developing life saving skills, and awareness of the beach coastal environment.

We are part of Portsmouth City Councils Employment, Learning and Skills service. We are fully externally funded with the main source of funding being the contribution which comes through our contract with the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) which we seek to supplement though other sources, such as The Good Things Foundations UK Online Centres. This means that we are able to provide certain courses free of charge, others at heavily subsidised rates and offer reduced fees for those on means tested benefits – see our Curriculum Strategy and Fees Policy for more information. We operate from our purpose built centre; The Learning Place, 6 Derby Road, North End, in Nelson ward and you are welcome to drop-in and see us to find out more. The centre core opening times are 9.00 – 16.30 Monday to Thursday, and to 15.45 Fridays. Our aim is to provide high quality learning experiences for adults living and working in and around Portsmouth. All teaching staff are trained to teach adults, with appropriate additional subject specialism qualifications and are required to complete annual training / professional development. We understand that for some, learning supports leisure and for others it builds capacity and skills, enabling them to get back to work, take a greater role in their community or better support their childrens learning. We therefore try to provide a responsive programme which maximises access to community learning for adults, bringing new opportunities and improving lives, whatever people’s circumstances, such as: Qualification based courses supporting readiness to work / employability including: Functional Skills English, maths and ICT from entry levels up to level 2 Food Safety in Catering Apprenticeships for those aged 16+ New accredited courses are being run regularly. See the accredited courses tab for more information Community Learning programmes including: Computers and internet Family Learning and Parenting, including English and maths Community / non-accredited ESOL Introduction to Functional Skills English and maths Arts and Crafts Cookery Health and Wellbeing (e.g. confidence building, relaxation and stress busting) Improve Your Skills (e.g. CV Writing, Employability Support) If you are not able to find a course you are looking for on our website do please get in touch with us. The programme is subject to change and some courses with certain eligibility requirements are not always advertised on our website. We only have a limited budget but we do look to prioritise its use to meet identified demand, so tell us what you would like to learn and why! Many of our programmes can also be delivered in a range of venues, so if you represent a community or organisation and are interested in hosting some courses, let us know that too! In addition to the courses we deliver, a small proportion of our funding is allocated to enable quality contracted providers to be engaged, through a robust procurement process, resulting in a broader community reach. In 2021/22 our current key areas for development are: Work readiness, pre-employment skills including increased business / employer links internally and externally, to particularly support the ongoing development of Apprenticeship programmes. Digital inclusion: continuing to offer IT provision and seeking to use innovative solutions to support those who remain digitally excluded to engage with computers and the internet Health and Wellbeing: further developing the increasingly well documented links between learning, health and wellbeing. Our passion is to secure the rights and entitlements of the people we work with and for. We aim to make the cities we work in more culturally competent and better able to meet the needs of those vulnerable people who live there. We are also acutely aware of our perceived position of strength as a major provider of mostly BME services and we want to share our resources, knowledge and position of influence with smaller, grass roots organisations. Touchstone was born out of an identified need for friendship and community in South Leeds in 1982. A Social Worker, Sylvia Landells, and CPN, John Clare, saw that large numbers of vulnerable people were left isolated and distressed out of hours and at weekends, so they set up a “weekend club” which was to grow into Touchstone. More than 30 years later, we provide mental health and wellbeing services to over 10,000 people a year, whilst also working across communities to grow their confidence and capacity to demand the services and positive experiences they are entitled to. Touchstone provides a range of innovative services that improve health and wellbeing. Touchstone is strongly committed to equality, independence and choice. Touchstone’s services are shaped by the needs of service users. Touchstone staff are committed, resourceful and knowledgeable. They reflect the multi-cultural community in which Touchstone operates.

We are open Monday to Friday from 8am until 6pm all year round and closed on bank holidays and the period between christmas and new year Clarence House Nursery, set in the leafy West End of Glasgow, has indoor and outdoor facilities. Shirley Hexley, the nursery owner, has been providing wraparound childcare since 1998 for 0-5 year olds. Clarence House has an excellent reputation for having a calm and nurturing environment that encourages children to be independent, develop social skills and explore new experiences. Staff are committed to understanding the individual needs of each child and work closely with parents to consolidate learning and help each child reach their full potential. Clarence House is a small nursery and recent comments from parents have included “higglety pigglety” and “quirky”. Most visitors comment on the nice feeling they get when they come in. Because of the small size of the nursery it feels homely and welcoming. Children are not regulary moved about from room to room and this allows relationships to develop into meaningful and positive friendships that can last through to school. And in the words of one of the children “we are a happy nursery”. Some of our strengths are : Our highly qualified and experienced staff follow Pre-Birth to Three and the Curriculum for Excellence which provides a framework for learning and supports all children well as they make the transition into school. We offer a broad range of indoor and outdoor activities with a focus on Health and Wellbeing, Literacy and Numeracy. There are also opportunities for children to explore areas such as Science and Technology, Expressive Arts and Social Studies. A daily exercise programme which establishes an introduction to the importance of health and wellbeing. Fees include a hot cooked meal at lunchtime, snacks, drinks, external specialists, events and outings. Partnership with Glasgow City Council offers funding for all 3-5 year old who live within Glasgow City Council. Parallel to the Trust being created, a series of discussions were held between Hartlepool Borough Council, Hartlepool United Football Club, Hartlepool College of Further Education, #LoveHartlepool representatives and The PFC Trust. Subsequently, on 10th February 2020, The PFC Trust board agreed to carry out a scoping study to discover the best use of its resources within sport in Hartlepool, to support clubs and to support the preventative agenda for health and wellbeing, with the ultimate aim of making the sport-arm self-sustaining.
