My story starts with the toughest year I had ever experienced: A miscarriage at 11 weeks having had menstrual issues for 20 years & subsequently suffered with mental health problems. I was signed off from work & for that year I focused on me. Exploring a variety of alternative therapies, waiting and wanting to be fixed. I also put my mind to projects around the home and garden, which became a sanctuary for me and our cat Moo, and we became therapy for each other. But all of a sudden, it was as if the universe was listening to me & heard my plea, I’d found hope and faith that there was a reason to continue; dōTERRA came late October, and Reiki and Crystal Therapy came mid November. These both gave me the holistic medicine tools which I'll carry with me for life and have since evolved into a low-waste, low-tox, and rather empowering lifestyle. So I welcome you to my site, to my life & to how these methods, products and habits have genuinely re-routed my journey. Classed as Energy - or Vibrational - Medicine, Radionics is a form of healing which encourages the body to repair itself. This non-invasive yet powerful therapy is effective not only in the treatment of humans but also in the treatment of animals and birds – both domestic and farm – and soil, plants and crops. The principles of Radionic therapy were discovered early in the twentieth century by Dr Albert Abrams, an eminent American physician. The Keys College of Radionics was founded in 1985 as a centre of excellence for the recruitment and professional training of practitioners in this form of healing which incorporates dowsing and the use of special instruments (sometimes known as ‘the Black Box’). It is affiliated to the Institute for Complementary and Natural Medicine (ICNM) and The Complementary Medical Association (CMA) and offers a three-year part-time Diploma course in which qualified instructors give students individual tuition. Introductory Days are held in the Spring and Autumn for those wishing to find out more about this fascinating subject. Patients and clients are advised to seek appropriate medical or veterinary advice and treatment. Parents and guardians must be aware that under the Children and Young Persons Act 1933 ‘adequate medical aid’ is required by law in the case of children under 16 years of age.

One-Eighty was established in 2011, to support and engage young people to live motivated and successful lives through psychological and evidence-based approaches. Since then, we have supported over 3,500 young people (aged 4-18), families and professionals across multiple locations, through our intensive interventions, group work, projects, and training courses, to achieve our charitable aims. The charity emerged from the Youth Offending Service in Oxfordshire as part of the research and production of a resource manual looking at the various reasons why a young person might disengage from education. This research was based around the critical thinking theories – exposing young people to a collaborative exploration of their life and their motivation. It looks at critical moments of their life and helps them evaluate the evidence by which they acted. This, in effect, allows a young person to create a more positive framework of how they might adjust their behaviours in the future. The process by which critical thinking theories operate are the foundation of other therapies like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Systemic Therapy. Research showed that the resource manual, although effective for 76% of young people presenting disengaging behaviours, was not effective for all young people. What this generic model lacked was something designed around a young person’s specific needs.

I embarked upon a career in Nutritional Therapy after discovering the benefits of nutrition in supporting my own personal health issues including Graves’s Disease, Hyperthyroidism and Generalised Anxiety Disorder. After working and playing very hard in London and burning the candle badly at both ends, it should have really come as no surprise when I started experiencing some very unpleasant symptoms. I felt so out of control and at a loss of what to do. I turned to nutrition and various alternative therapies and was astounded at the results. Fast forward a year and I’d left my marketing career and began studying for a Masters in Nutritional Therapy at the University of Worcester. I am now a registered Nutritional Therapist and feel very humbled to be able to support individuals in improving their health and wellbeing. I have a very back to basics approach and like to make sure that you actually understand what’s going on and why we’re doing what we’re doing. I am know for my maintaining calm (in most) situations and transfer this into my client work. My aim is to leave you feeling confident in your ability to create long lasting changes and importantly more knowledgable in taking control of your health.

Action Mental Health grew from humble beginnings in Downpatrick in 1963 when it was known as the Industrial Therapy Organisation. Back then it was tucked away out of sight, in tune with the stigmas of the day. Today however, AMH has emerged as the standard bearer within Northern Ireland’s Third Sector – helping to smash the stigma of mental illness for all sections of the community. Action Mental Health is multi-faceted, offering myriad services. Integral to the organisation is its nine New Horizons services, dotted across Northern Ireland – north, south, east and west, where clients benefit from a variety of personal development, vocational skills and employability training options including accredited qualifications and work placements. A variety of resilience-building techniques are also pivotal to our range of services delivered to school children and young people in further and higher education. Services provided also include a full range of therapeutic counselling for children, young people, adults, families including services for the deaf community. The charity also offers a whole gamut of services for young and old alike, designed to promote mental well-being for those in work and currently unemployed; those affected by chronic pain or debilitating long-term illnesses; people living with eating disorders and also a dedicated service in Bangor for people with learning disabilities.
