What gifted children need most, very often, is other gifted children. We have been providing residentials, day events and more recently online classes where gifted children can find their tribe for over 40 years. Since the surge in online activity in the pandemic, our reach has broadened to include mixed-ability participants from the home educated community, but our culture  of learning for learning's sake without the weight of judgment, assessment or the drag of trying to work alongside students who are not as curious about new ideas as you are, all remain the same. As well as our classes, we can offer advice to parents in negotiating with schools, and can sometimes fit in or arrange 1:1 sessions to introduce students to more advanced materials and ideas that can keep them challenged. Our regular courses and residentials are hosted on www.p4he.org [//www.p4he.org] (short for Philosophy for Home Education, but since we now offer philosophy, debate, improv, Shakespeare, creative writing and Dungeons and Dragons, and are open to school-frequenting people as well, there's more to it than that).

National Energy Action, the fuel poverty charity, campaigns so everyone can afford to live in a warm and safe home. This is something denied to millions because of poor housing, low incomes, and high bills. Working across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, everything we do aims to improve the lives of people in fuel poverty. We directly support people with energy and income maximisation advice and we advocate on issues including improving the energy efficiency of our homes. We do not work alone. Partnerships and collaboration have been at the heart of NEA for over 40 years, helping us drive better health and wellbeing outcomes for people struggling to heat their homes. National Energy Action was founded in 1981 when students at Durham University established a group of volunteers to install loft insulation in the homes of elderly local people. Their experiences led them to realise there was a huge problem with people living in cold and unhealthy homes, suffering from fuel poverty. Subsequently, working with Newcastle City Council, this project was replicated on a wider scale by putting together different funding streams to develop community insulation projects. On 18 May 1981, Neighbourhood Energy Action was formally launched as a development programme of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations. Since then Neighbourhood Energy Action has evolved into National Energy Action (NEA), employing over 70 staff across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Our actions have brought real social change, enabling millions of people to access grants and assistance to help them live in a warm home. Our campaigning work has also ensured that fuel poverty is now firmly on the public policy agenda. We also work closely with our sister charity Energy Action Scotland. Southampton Coalporters A.R.C. was founded in 1875 and as such is the oldest and most established rowing club within the city of Southampton. The club has been successfully competing every year since its foundation. Coalporters itself takes its name from the rowers who transported coal to visiting ships on the River Itchen. These workers formed the club in which they could participate using their skills in competition against anyone else who would race against them. In 1884 the club scratched together a crew of 18 to race and beat a previously undefeated racing crew of 14 from the visiting American Navy. The race was set over a five mile course for stakes of sixty dollars . The crew imbalance was more than compensated for by the fact that the Americans could race their own specially designed racing boat, whilst Coalporters had to race in a disused service cutter from the condemned stores in Portsmouth Dockyard. The Americans asked for a rematch for higher stakes for which Coalporters took up the challenge and again went on to win. Soon after Coalporters were challenged by the "Portsmouth Shovelers" which laid the foundations for the more conventional river and coastal rowing competitions of today. The club has progressively grown in stature over the years to become a well renowned and respected club throughout the rowing circuit both locally and nationally. We have been on our present site beside Northam Bridge for over 40 years. The latest addition to the club was completed in 2005, extending the building further towards the water to increase the size of the training / gym area and also extending the back of the club to incorporate a club / committee room. The refurbishment also included the rebuilding of the changing rooms and the installation of new racking in the boat house. In 2019 Coalporters embarked on a new era to develop the club for the future. New storage and club refurbishment is now being planned, the first phase starts with conversion of the Northam Arch project. This will provide more boat storage space for members and our rowing crews.

The Institute of Clinical Research (ICR) is the probably the oldest independent membership-led professional body for global clinical researchers. For over 40 years, The Institute of Clinical Research (ICR) has provided high quality training, networking and support to the clinical research community. For many Members the Institute has been part of their life throughout their working careers, many have been with the Institute since its first incarnation as the ACRPI. It is the membership that makes the Institute. How does it all work ? The Institute of Clinical Research is you, the Membership governed by the Articles of Memorandum drawn up by the founding members. The Board is made up of members who give their time freely to guide the future direction of the ICR. The ICR Secretariat is the administrative arm of the Institute, its primary focus is to ensure that the wishes of the Board and Membership are carried out and to see to the day to day tasks that any membership organisation generates. Our Mission The ICR exists to support our members through all stages of their careers. Children Unite is a registered charity that promotes participatory approaches to working with exploited children. Since 2010 we have worked in over 15 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America with children's rights agencies and donors that are supporting exploited children and young people. Through consultancy : We work with NGOs and donors that support exploited children and young people. Our advice service builds organisations' capacity to integrate children's participation into organisational policy and structure, and develop programmes that are based on needs identified by children themselves. Our technical advice and consultancy includes programme evaluation and grant assessment, qualitative research and policy reviews as well as capacity building and training staff and children. Through our projects : We facilitate children's activism and advocacy in order to influence national and international policy and practice. We design and co-ordinate participatory research and projects that empower exploited children. We have successfully supported child domestic workers to campaign nationally and internationally; influencing the International Labour Organisation's Domestic Workers Convention and introducing local by-laws to protect children from exploitation. After gaining her Arts Degree from Sheffield City Polytechnic, Janet set up her silversmithing business in London where she was based for ten years. She moved to Berkshire where she has stayed, initially becoming Jeweller in Residence at South Hill Park Arts Centre and now teaching her own classes in Woodley. She has been making and teaching jewellery for over 40 years and has had the pleasure of seeing her students enjoy learning about jewellery making and some of her students have chosen to go on to run their own jewellery business. Her designs concentrate on form and technique. Flow, texture and carving informs most of her work. She likes her work to be timeless, enhance the body and come to life when worn by the owner. Her work continues to be exhibited here in Britain and abroad, has featured in a variety of publications including Vogue and is part of the contemporary jewellery collection at the Dallas Museum of Art, USA.
