Wing Chun Self Defence has been teaching Wing Chun, Kung Fu, Tai Chi and meditation to young people and adults across London. Our martial Arts programme helps to improve mental and physical health. There are multiple benefits that can be gained from becoming more active, as well as getting fitter. Members of Wing Chun Self Defence will also develop a set of martial art skills suitable for street Self Defence. Our vision is to improve the health and wellbeing of the community. We provide classes suitable for adults and young children (age 5+); we are a friendly and relaxed club where you can begin your own journey to discover a range of Martial Arts disciplines such as Wing Chun Kung Fu and street survival techniques. We aim to create opportunities that will change lives through inspiring residents to take part, motivating them to keep going and facilitating opportunities for various achievements. Wing Chun Self Defence school is based in East London (Haggerston – Dalston in Hackney Borough). Our different programmes will enable you to learn Street Self Defence through the study of Wing Chun Kung Fu whilst durably improving your health with our Chi Kung and Tai Chi practices. We have a great team of instructors who are passionate about what they do and want to make a difference in the community. South West Music School is a charity working with talented young instrumentalists, singers and composers aged 8 – 19 years in the South West of England. Due to the geographical nature of the South West, we are not building based but are a ‘virtual’ school working with young people on an individual basis in their local area. In addition, our students come together on a regular basis to collaborate, create, learn new skills and perform together. South West Music School is part of a national network of Centres of Advanced Training supported by the Department for Education Music and Dance Scheme for exceptionally talented young musicians. Funding provided by the DfE can ensure that each student has adequate resources to undertake involvement with SWMS and that all costs are met according to need (there is an optional section within our application form to help us determine your grant eligibility). South West Music School (SWMS) provides students with the same standard of music education as specialist music schools and junior conservatoires. The additional benefit of SWMS is that it allows students to stay in their existing education and continue to take part in other current musical (and non-musical) activities in their local communities. South West Music School covers each county in the South West region: Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Bristol, Gloucestershire, BaNES and Wiltshire. How much does it cost? The cost of a place at SWMS depends on the specific programme and tailored package of activities provided for each student. We work with families to ensure we place students on the right programme and with the right level of support for ability level, age, musical interest, and budget. SWMS students have access to means-tested grants from the Department of Education’s Music & Dance Scheme. A full grant will cover the entire costs of a place with South West Music School, as well as providing additional financial support for activities such as instrumental tuition. In 1983 at a time of record high unemployment a group of local business leaders came together. Their vision? Create an organisation that would enable young people to develop the future skills they needed to obtain work and forge successful careers, while benefiting the community. This organisation became North Wales Training. It steadily grew, responding to local employment challenges. It built strong relationships with private and public sector partners. Re:ACT Performing & Production Arts provides classes and theatre opportunities for young people in Somerset, North Somerset and Bristol. We welcome students (aged 4 - 19) to musical theatre classes, acting classes, dance classes, production arts classes and private singing and instrumental tuition. We do not only create performers, but writers, directors, choreographers and designers. This training is taught by expert, qualified, DBS checked and first aid trained tutors who help to build confidence, increase interpersonal skills and create team players. The Museum of English Rural Life is owned and managed by the University of Reading. We use our diverse and surprising collection to explore how the skills and experiences of farmers and craftspeople, past and present, can help shape our lives now and into the future. We work alongside rural people, local communities and specialist researchers to create displays and activities that engage with important debates about the future of food and the ongoing relevance of the countryside to all our lives. We were established by academics in the Department of Agriculture in 1951 to capture and record the rapidly changing countryside following World War II. The Museum is based on Redlands Road in a building originally designed by Sir Alfred Waterhouse in 1880 for local businessman Alfred Palmer, of the Huntley & Palmer biscuit company. The house then became St Andrews Hall of Residence in 1911, and in 2005 a modern extension was built onto the house for the Museum. The Museum was awarded £1.8million from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) in 2014 for the redevelopment of the galleries, reopening in October 2016. The redevelopment strengthens and renews our links with agriculture as well as enhancing our position in supporting engagement opportunities for students and academics across a wide variety of disciplines, nationally and internationally. The MERL and Reading Museum are currently in a strategic partnership as part of the Arts Council England National Portfolio 2018-2022. As Museums Partnership Reading we work together to provide cultural opportunities for Reading’s young people and diverse communities, through schools, volunteering, digital engagement and exhibitions. Hereward College is a national college for people with disabilities and additional needs based in Coventry. It offers learners a varied curriculum that focuses on skills for independent living and employment. The college has both day and residential provision, which caters for a whole range of needs ranging from students with autism, physical difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties and complex disabilities. With a person centred approach, which is destination-led, learners follow a study programme designed to meet their needs and support progression. There is a real focus on employability, and every learner has access to work experience opportunities linked to their learning. Learners also have the opportunity to take part in Hereward’s supported internship study programme with one of the college’s partner employers that enables them to gain valuable experience within a supported environment. A range of additional support is available to students to ensure their journey through college runs as smoothly as possible. Learners can access speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social and emotional support, nursing support, and independent learning support. The college also offers respite care breaks for 16 to 25 year olds which provide young people with a taste of residential life, a chance to socialise with peers and take part in group and college activities.

We take a person-centred approach to assessing and supporting every young person referred to us. From the moment the referral comes in, we begin tailoring a package of individualised interventions to ensure each young person gets the right kind of support, in the way that will make the most difference for them. Working towards meeting the objectives set and agreed upon by the young person’s support team and social worker, each young person is referred to specific, relevant programmes. These might include: • Therapeutic Intervention Programme • Social Integration Programme • High Intensive Mentoring Programme • Emotional and Social Support Programme Among the young people we support are those with diagnosed or pending diagnosis of ADHD, ASC, or mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, attachment disorder and ODD, and those at risk of CSE and CCE.
