Two Arienas Collective artists - bookbinder Cass Barron and printmaker Lou Davis - team up for this treat of an exclusive, online workshop which celebrates colour, texture, mark making and bookbinding.
A series of step-by-step video tutorials will encourage you to experiment with a range of simple but effective printmaking techniques to create a one-of-a-kind A5 sized junk journal, which makes for a great sketchbook, memory book, diary or gift for someone special.&nbsp;
Lou will show you how to make a DIY gel&nbsp;plate, and share some of her favourite vege-gel&nbsp;printing techniques, including how to&nbsp;create&nbsp;your own stencils and use&nbsp;found objects to make unusual textures. She will also share her tips on how to get the most out of a limited colour pallete, and give you some guidance on colour mixing and composition.
Once you have created a series of prints onto different papers, envelopes and pre-loved materials such as old maps and book pages, Cass will show you how to transform these into a beautiful, colourful A5 Journal&nbsp;with exposed spine and decorative cross stitch binding.
At the end of the course you&rsquo;ll have a wide range of mark-making techniques under your belt that can be applied to everything from bookbinding and card making, to printing your own wrapping paper. You&rsquo;ll also be equipped with all the skills you need to make eye-catching, colourful books that make great personal journals, and unique gifts for birthdays, Christmas and other celebrations. &nbsp;

In this experience you can choose to make anything from a wall or table clock to a Grandfather or Grandmother clock.You&rsquo;ll each be given a quartz battery powered clock unit and from there you can get creative with your design and the materials you use. Your hosts, Scott and Sue, will guide you through everything you need to know, from the tools you&rsquo;ll use to how to prep recycled material. For your clock design you&rsquo;ll have free reign to be creative with your ideas. The style you choose can be inspired by anything and can be finished in colour or natural wood.This is a perfect chance to create a unique piece for your home or make a personal, one-off gift. Cyan Clayworks is an artist-run, non profit studio and teaching space. This three hour introductory class is suitable for adult beginners, and will focus on tile making, press moulded dishes and&nbsp;wheel throwing. Each student will be introduced to the basics of throwing; centering the clay, and forming a small vessel each. You will be able to create a small group of unique textured and coloured slip decorated tiles and a pressmoulded dish using one of our moulds.
Limited class sizes with both Fiona and Chris teaching so lots of hands on support! You will be given one to one support while on the wheel.
Your work will be trimmed (wheelthrown pots), fired and glazed ready to collect a few weeks later. You'll be notified by email and will then have a month to collect your pieces.

In this festive craft workshop, we will be making a selection of decorations for your tree, plus designs you can use for Christmas cards and gift tags.
I will show you a number of quilling techniques so you can get used to the way it all works, and after a little practice and you will have a selection of designs to follow throughout the day.

Bark containers are one of, if not the oldest way to contain foodstuffs, liquids &amp; other goods.
In this workshop we will be using methods and materials that span back thousands of years into pre-history to create a beautiful, strong &amp; sustainable container from Birch Bark
This style of container is possibly my favourite. No glue, no nails, no modern materials. An ingenuous method of making which involves clever finger tab joints and friction. An immensely satisfying experience.
A history of the use of bark, roots &amp; wood, plus examples of harvesting, storing and working with these materials will lead us up to the main task of the day, creating your very own natural tupperware.

Bark containers are one of, if not the oldest way to contain foodstuffs, liquids & other goods.
In this workshop we will be using methods and materials that span back thousands of years into pre-history to create a beautiful, strong & sustainable container from Birch Bark
This style of container is possibly my favourite. No glue, no nails, no modern materials. An ingenuous method of making which involves clever finger tab joints and friction. An immensely satisfying experience.
A history of the use of bark, roots & wood, plus examples of harvesting, storing and working with these materials will lead us up to the main task of the day, creating your very own natural tupperware.

This 4 week online Course is suitable for complete beginners and improvers who would like to learn to paint in Watercolour. Each session is 40 minutes live on Tuesday evening and start at 7.00-7.40pm Via Zoom On this Course you will: * learn to prepare your water colour paints and mix colours. * learn a variety of watercolour techniques including, washes, wet in wet, graded, dry brush Flat Wash, Loose watercolour see photos, we will cover a variety of subjects. * will be taught live by your tutor online via zoom with step- by -step demonstrations and clear explanations of the various stages. * Learners will then carry the various tasks alongside the tutor who will be at hand for any questions that you may have. A talk with NIKKI PARMENTER - Textiles/Mixed Media Artist
TUESDAY 15TH OCTOBER
START TIME: 7.00pm 
Join our TEA ’N CHAT with Textile Artist Nikki Parmenter, who will talk about her work, explaining some of the techniques she uses.
She will also demonstrate the plastic entrapment method she will be using for her workshop on Wednesday 6th November and show some finished examples. This will entail some layering of fabric, soldering and free machine embroidery and some ideas regarding ways of displaying the finished piece. 

Nikki taught art for 30 years to secondary school children, and having left full time work in 2016 , has been providing talks, demonstrations, summer schools, workshops to schools, groups and societies. She is a member of various art and textile groups.
She exhibits her work widely and has written a number of articles for both magazines and online sites. She is based in Cheshire and specialises in mixed media textile pieces, taking inspiration from a variety of sources and particularly interested in the way societies created a series of visual symbols to represent the things which were important to them. She investigates myths, legends, stories and beliefs. She is also inspired by art, architecture and artefacts.

In this course we will be combining my passions of Qigong and Breathwork to help bring us into balance so we can move though Autumn into winter full of peace and vitality.
Why Qigong and Breathwork?
Qigong is breathwork (Qi is Breath), it is an amazing way of opening and clearing the body, of making space for our healthy energy to flow. It allows us to stay relaxed and receptive without forcing or pushing. It is easy to learn and naturally attuned to your individual body and how it wants to expand, release and recharge.
Breathwork is simply bringing our conscious attention to our breath and is one of the most powerful ways we have to change our state at any given moment. In the course i will introduce you to eight different breath techniques to help you to breathe better. Commit to just 10mins a day and you’ll be amazed at the results you can achieve.

As a student on one of our January-start degrees, you’ll join a truly global community of creative learners. LOOKING FOR: ADULT FICTION, NON-FICTION
Rachel Neely began her publishing career in 2016 at HarperCollins, before moving to Hachette where she worked as an editor for the next six years, specialising in crime and thrillers along with book club novels and contemporary fiction, most recently as a Commissioning Editor at Orion. 
Rachel joined Mushens Entertainment at the start of 2022 as an Associate Agent, assisting Juliet Mushens with her client list, including multiple Sunday Times and New York Times bestselling authors. Simultaneously she began signing her own clients. In August 2023 she was promoted to Literary Agent and is actively growing her list, looking for book-club fiction, dark academia, rom-coms, tragic love stories, crime and thrillers. Please note she is not the right agent for sci-fi, espionage novels, YA or children’s books. 
She signs both commercial and literary authors, and is always looking for a distinctive voice matched with a compelling plot. She would love to see a commercial locked-room thriller in the vein of The Midnight Feast, The White Lotus or with shades of Succession; novels about cults such as The Girls; a voice-led serial-killer thriller reminiscent of How to Kill Your Family; compelling dark academia to rival The Secret History; a high-concept but tragic love story that will make her ugly cry in the vein of The Time Traveller’s Wife or One Day; and anything that has an outsider trying to break into the world of the privileged and morally bankrupt.
Besides those above, her favourite novels include The List, The Talented Mr Ripley, The Lovely Bones, Other People’s Clothes, The It Girl, The Girl Before, Notes on an Execution, My Dark Vanessa and My Sister the Serial Killer.
