The Oxford Schools Chaplaincy is a registered charity (no. 1140387) and a member of the Evangelical Alliance. Since 2010 Oxford Schools Chaplaincy has been working in schools around Oxford, expanding from 2015, through a programme of working with and training volunteers in order to offer a wider range of activities. In 2019, we delivered 50 lessons to 1,220 students; provided assemblies to over 800 students, as well as supported Christian groups in 6 schools and organised teacher support events. We have 50 people who have volunteered from 23 churches around Oxford. In 2020/21, we worked to support teachers and students during lockdown, and Coronavirus restrictions. We were able to offer online lessons and assemblies, support teachers in running online Christian Unions, and offer practical and emotional support to teachers and students grappling with the issues raised by the pandemic. Our trustees and patrons invest in all aspects of education and are also involved with the River Learning Trust, the Oxford Diocese and Oakhill College, as well as active in their local churches. OSC has partnered with Wycliffe Hall, OCCA, Innovista, the Oxford Diocese, BeSpace and Gideons in bringing the message of the Christian faith to schools around Oxford. Our activities include: Bespoke lessons and assemblies. Christian Unions. Bible Explorer Walk through the Bible. True Club for Year 6 girls. Teacher Support events. Volunteer training sessions.

Although running is a big part of my work, it is also something that I have loved doing since I was 11 years old. Even as a toddler, I would stand and watch people running round our local track before being taken to the nearby park! As a teenager, I trained three times a week on the track and, from about 16 years old, also added a weights session to my training. Most weekends would be spent racing at one event or another and I loved every minute of it. In the beginning I started doing 100m and 200m, quickly followed by 75m and 80m hurdles as I progressed through the age groups. In the U17 age category, I had the opportunity to do 300m and 300m hurdles and it became apparent that I was more successful over the slightly longer distances. Once I moved up to senior level, I was asked to do a 400m hurdles for a point at one of the league races. I (literally) jumped at the chance and never looked back! Over the next few years, this became my event until I stopped doing athletics training in my early twenties. This photo was taken at one of my last 4x100m relay events, which the observant amongst you will realise this is also the image used to make my logo!

A farmer’s son from north Cornwall, Alastair spent 16 years leading a team of over 100 professionals on Cruise Liners, such as QE2 and Queen Mary 2, while being the face and voice of numerous training videos for three different cruise lines. He also represented the cruise industry as a spokesperson on media road shows and press conferences.

Welcome to The Nantwich Singers The Nantwich Singers is regarded as one of the finest chamber choirs in the northwest of England. Since its inception as The Tudor Consort in the early 1970s it has broadened its repertoire from the unaccompanied music of the 16th Century and now performs music from all eras and in all styles. The great masterpieces of the Renaissance are not forgotten but the choir is now equally at home in the classical era of Mozart and Schubert, the romantic world of Brahms and Rachmaninov, the rhythmic complexity of Walton and the jazz of Will Todd. Most performances are given in the medieval gem of St Mary’s Church in the centre of Nantwich, often referred to as the Cathedral of South Cheshire. But the choir also ventures further afield and has established a reputation deputising for church choirs around the country; including Bath and Tewkesbury Abbeys, and the cathedrals of Edinburgh, Manchester, Derby, Lichfield, Chester and Coventry among others. The choir comprises a flexible grouping of about 18 singers, some of whom are soloists in their own right. They perform regularly with orchestras and instrumental groups, as well as with organ or piano accompaniment, but at the heart of the choir is the enduring excitement of unaccompanied music, both sacred and secular.

It is targeting the local community by providing social, religious, recreational and educational activities. In 2008 Jo met and took refuge with Dharma King Dechan Jeuren – MahaVairocana Buddha, lineage bearer of the Esoteric and LinJi Chan schools in China. She received her Dharma name – Zhi Ling. In April 2015, the MahaAmita Temple was opened by the Mayor of Southend-on-Sea. The only Buddhist Temple in the Borough, Jo was then invited by the Mayor to present the Buddhist flags to him at the Southend Borough Annual General Meeting, which he accepted on behalf of the Borough. In 2016 she was invited to become the Buddhist representative for SACRE (Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education) for the Southend Borough and currently sits on the panel. The Founding Director of the Centre, Jo is an ordained Buddhist teacher and runs meditation and healing sessions weekly and Mindfulness courses monthly. She is a huge advocate of teaching and promoting the benefits of meditation and visits schools, groups and organisations within the local community giving talks and workshops. Her personal philosophy is to be as honest and truthful as possible and specialises in teaching how to open up the heart centre. AUDE is run by an executive committee of university directors of estates that provides strategic oversight to the organisation. They make recommendations on several of the association aspects such as subscription fees and the annual budget as well as managing the election of office holders. Members vote at the AGM to apply or amend recommendations, and elect the officers. The executive committee meets four times a year, discussing and responding to matters presented by the fellow directors (directly and through regional chairs), and by the executive director and staff team. The committee receives the executive director’s quarterly report, which contains updates from each of the topic-based working groups. The meetings are also used to discuss and act on the organisation’s financial performance throughout the year. Furthermore, the meetings provide a useful sounding board and guide to the executive director, Jane White, and the AUDE team in determining the services provided to members and projects undertaken. The team comprises of five members of staff employed on permanent contracts: Executive Director (1.0 FTE) Projects and Engagement Manager (1.0FTE) Events Manager (0.8 FTE) Communications Officer (0.5 FTE) Events and Projects Officer (0.8 FTE) AUDE is a not-for-profit organisation and receives its core funding from member institution subscriptions and training and development activities. It is sustainable, with healthy financial reserves in line with its agreed financial model.

EAQ® - Home of Horse-based Learning and Education EAQ® (Equine Assisted Qualifications) sets and monitors quality standards for its equine assisted learning centres and provides training and qualifications for facilitators and others involved with equine assisted learning. There are a number of EAQ Approved Centres in the UK offering interaction with horses for children, young people and adults leading to nationally-recognised qualifications. Training for Facilitators EAQ offers a number of training programmes for facilitators including the Level 4 Certificate in Facilitating Equine Assisted Learning. The Level 4 Certificate is a national qualification which is regulated in the UK by Ofqual. Training is available for facilitators, horse professionals, tutors, assessors and practitioners of equine assisted learning. Courses run throughout the year. You need to take part in an online Introduction Day before enrolling on the facilitator training. Please check the Events page for the next Introduction Day. Training can be a mix of online and face to face sessions. EAQ Approved Centres EAQ Approved Centres have met quality standards including horse handling, the environment and staff qualifications. Their staff have been specially trained to offer equine assisted learning sessions to individuals and groups from all walks of life. Some centres specialise in certain areas, such as working with children and young people who are excluded from shcool.

Opening Up Cricket was formed in 2014 in response to the death of Sefton Park CC wicket keeper Alex Miller and a will to promote positive mental health in our sport. Alex took his own life in December 2012 and in the year that followed team mates supported the work of C.A.L.M to pay tribute. This has continued but as the season following his passing came to a close there was a thought to do something lasting and further reaching. As a result, the organisation was created with the aim of speaking to local cricketers about the experience of losing Alex in the hope that more conversations about this topic could prevent further tragedies. Now, in 2022, we have delivered over 400 sessions across the United Kingdom and Australia. The desire to get our message to the cricketing community remains as strong as ever. We are run by unpaid volunteers with help from the National Lottery Community Fund who have provided a grant for sessions costs so that groups can receive them without charge. We also owe a lot of thanks to the support provided by clubs, leagues and partners who have supported in many ways more to allow us to go further than the grant. Currently we are registered as a Community Interest Company but have now applied for registered charity status.
